In August of 1980, Playboy Playmate Dorothy Stratten was found dead at just 20 years old. She was the girl next door with the shy smile and whispery voice who didn’t know her own beauty. To Hugh Hefner, she was his next Marilyn Monroe. To famed director Peter Bogdonovich, she was his muse. And to her husband, Paul Snider, she was his ticket to fame and fortune. All three ambitious men adored her. Only one of them murdered her. How did Dorothy’s Hollywood dreams lead to her death? From Wondery, and the team behind the hit series Hollywood & Crime (The Dating Game Killer, The Wonderland Murders) comes a six-part series about love, sex and murder. Co-hosted by Tracy Pattin and Josh Lucas. Binge all episodes of Death of a Starlet exclusively and ad-free by joining Wondery+ in the Wondery App, Apple Podcasts or Spotify. Fabulous producing and voice acting. Very informative, gripping, and an especially kind review and view of the victim.
Well done

Thank you for the excellent coverage & scope of this true story. I was a model & actress in NYC when this story broke & was so saddened as well as shocked by it. I knew that this career was temporary for me as I did not like it much. Fortunately I had a college degree & other plans in mind. I admire Dorothy to this day & She was going to be a wonderful actress if that was her goal ahead. May she rest in peace.
Hug and hug and I are both so

It deserves less stars, but I gave it at least 3 for Dorothy’s story (even though she deserves more stars). I do not like how this story is told! It makes it sound cheesy. I don’t think they did this story or Dorothy justice. I am on the 4th episode and will try and finish it. I just really dislike how they told the story. It makes it sounds like a cheesy romance novel or something. It is hard to listen to in my opinion. I would like it a lot more if it were told in a “Serial” like fashion-something more low key and not like a storybook. Just people or a person talking about what happened, the facts, and asking their own questions. Maybe even interviewing ex playboy members about her murder, etc. I don’t care for this even though I am intrigued to hear about the Playboy stories. Such a shame. It could’ve been really good and gotten her story out there in a better fashion.
