Rachel Engstrom - Wife, Widow, Now What?

When Rachel was 28 years old, her husband was diagnosed with leukemia. What they thought was the flu after working too many hours, turned out to be the life altering illness that would forever change everything they knew. Rachel became a cancer wife, manager, team cheerleader and expert juggler at life, while supporting her husband throughout his illness, until he died two days after she turned 31.

Shanice McLeish - Grief on the Playground

Shanice McLeish - Grief on the Playground

After losing her father at the age of 8, Shanice McLeish was set on a journey to understand grief. As a teenager, she got involved with Cate's Place, a non-profit organization helping kids who have lost a sibling, parent or primary caregiver. In working with the children at Cate's Place she became aware of the fact that she hadn't grieved the loss of her father. She then started Grieving It with the goal of normalizing conversations about grief. She now has a children's book coming out on September 1st, Grief on the Playground.

Dr. Joshua Black - Grief Dreams

Dr. Joshua Black - Grief Dreams

Dr. Joshua Black has dedicated the past eight years to studying dreams people have after a loved one dies, or as he calls them, "grief dreams". He's not just a researcher but he also had a dream about his dad after he died that he found to be very comforting and affirming. The research into grief dreams is fascinating to me. I hope you enjoy.

Tricia Barker - Angels in the OR

Tricia Barker - Angels in the OR

When Tricia was in college, she was in a horrific car accident and she died on the operating table in the Emergency Room. She floated above her body, she saw angels who were 9-feet tall standing behind the surgeon, sending light into the surgeon's hands as they worked on her injuries, she had a life review and saw her favorite (deceased) grandfather. I really enjoyed talking with Tricia about her amazing NDE and I hope you enjoy it too!

Benjamin Kintisch, Life Review: The Hospice Musical Creator - Part 2

Benjamin Kintisch, Life Review: The Hospice Musical Creator - Part 2

This is part 2 of my 2-part interview of Benjamin Kintisch, Cantor, chaplain, music teacher, and creator of Life Review: The Hospice Musical. His musical theater background and his current work as a hospice chaplain intersected and gave birth to this inspiring and important musical about life and death. I call this a "Bridge Episode" because this is the first episode that I am posting to both of my podcasts: this one, Death Talk Podcast, and my other podcast, I Have Dreams Dammit! Podcast.
