Welcome, I'm Michael Coates, a former firefighter and also a former Soldier.
This podcast documents amazing stories from members of the military community.
Our guests include Military Cross winners, athletes, partners of those who have served, high ranking commanders and 'normal' veterans who have gained extraordinary experiences.
By declassifying stigmas and perceptions we wish to open up issues around mental fitness and wellbeing, talk in depth around subjects such as post traumatic growth and delve into human development on a micro level.
Our longterm vision is to provide hope, guidance, support and help for individuals who are suffering from both mental and physical illness or injury.

Greet episode! This is a great program and a lot of good information shared. I enjoyed hearing about Prince Harry’s military experience. As a veteran, I can relate to when he discussed the “team” experience and working with fellow veterans.
Declassified
This is the podcast to hear gripping, emotional stories told by veterans to a fellow veteran, Michael Coates. You need not be a vet or a serving soldier, or even from the United Kingdom, to get something out of this podcast. What you will get is a window into the experiences of “regular” people who have been through hellacious times and come out the other side. Michael Coates has an obvious ease with his interviewees which gives them the confidence to discuss deeply personal experiences, including life after combat and mental health struggles. I hope this podcast keeps growing and going. Highly recommended.
Brave and Courageous Military Stories
This podcast is truly outstanding. If you're looking for stories of perseverance, courage, bravery, of struggles, challenges, deceit, battles on foreign soil and even worse ones on home soil, this podcast is for you. The stories are real, told with great emotion and facilitiated incredibly well by Michael Coates (a former serviceman himself). Michael has an unfathomable way of working with his guests, to share their story in the realist way possible. Michael demonstrates such poise and emotion that you can tell puts the guests at ease and furthermore, with he creates a focus that allows the narrative to flow naturally. Highly, highly recommend.
