Welcome, I'm Michael Coates, a former firefighter and also a former Soldier.
This podcast documents amazing stories from members of the military community.
Our guests include Military Cross winners, athletes, partners of those who have served, high ranking commanders and 'normal' veterans who have gained extraordinary experiences.
By declassifying stigmas and perceptions we wish to open up issues around mental fitness and wellbeing, talk in depth around subjects such as post traumatic growth and delve into human development on a micro level.
Our longterm vision is to provide hope, guidance, support and help for individuals who are suffering from both mental and physical illness or injury.

Greet episode! This is a great program and a lot of good information shared. I enjoyed hearing about Prince Harry’s military experience. As a veteran, I can relate to when he discussed the “team” experience and working with fellow veterans.
This is the podcast to hear gripping, emotional stories told by veterans to a fellow veteran, Michael Coates. You need not be a vet or a serving soldier, or even from the United Kingdom, to get something out of this podcast. What you will get is a window into the experiences of “regular” people who have been through hellacious times and come out the other side. Michael Coates has an obvious ease with his interviewees which gives them the confidence to discuss deeply personal experiences, including life after combat and mental health struggles. I hope this podcast keeps growing and going. Highly recommended.
Class. The interviewer has a superb natural gift of drawing the stories out of his guests, with compassion and intelligence and no nonsense. You’ve either got it or you haven’t...and he has. So interesting to hear whether you have experience of the forces or not. Service, brotherhood, and great positivity towards mental health issues are all covered. And real characters. Top podcast that will hopefully grow and grow. Be there at the beginning.
