Through the years, I’ve been a CNN correspondent, an EIC at Travel Savvy, Avenue and Show Circuit, a columnist for the New York Post, Ad Week and Metropolitan Home, as well as writing  for the New York Times, and many women’s magazines. I was also chief  content officer at First Wives World

Yet nothing has ever felt as right as this project.

Because at this chapter of life, you want to plant seeds of possibility and share some of your hard-won wisdom with others, as well as do what you love. Whenever I’ve needed a breath of beauty or a break from the ugliness of the world, flowers have been my solace. I hope this site elicits that experience for you.

After creating this idea, I  gathered seasoned professionals who share the same passion for flowers and respect nature’s gifts and insights to help curate this happy project.

We hope you will be patient with us since we are just seedlings now; over time this garden will grow. But every day we will present stories inspired by flowers and floral motifs, making us the first all-floral news site.

Since we look at how flowers populate pop culture, each day will bring a different focus as well as a daily burst of positivity, beauty and wisdom.

On Mondays, especially on our Instagram, we look at decor, art and travel. Tuesdays are tips about flower arranging, gardens or using flowers in everyday life. Wellness Wednesday looks at how flowers are used in medicine, as well as the beauty industry – especially fragrances in candles and oils. Throwback Thursdays reflect on the past by presenting timeless beauty and wisdom. Friday will always be a fun fact about flowers and meeting some fab florists. Saturday is our fashion day as well as weekend fun with pets – as we share photos of beloved canines and cats with flowers. Sunday is our Floral Foodie Sunday and we introduce you to a cast of characters who inventively use flowers in their cuisine and drinks.

Join us for our curated newsletter, Instagram and website. Fun we will have. If you look at life through the prism of flowers- you will be happier. As I often say, flowers are here for a reason and teach great life lessons. We use flowers to both comfort and congratulate and to express sentiments without many words. No matter what is going on in your life – flowers are here for you.  Because flowers are a universal kiss to remind us that solace and beauty exist.

    Guest Bio:

    Gerald Palumbo

Gerald Palumbo is originally from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He graduated from La Roche College in Pittsburgh in 1984 with a BS in Interior Design. and moved to New York City in 1985 to pursue a career in design. While working for both Interior Design and Architectural Firms in NYC, Gerald worked part-time for the very flower shop that he would go on to own.  Gerald's passion was always in flowers, even as a child.  Both of his parents were avid gardeners and his mother was especially fond of growing flowers.  In August of 1989, Gerald Palumbo officially became the owner of the flower shop.  It was renamed Seasons A Floral Design Studio and with his business partner, Daniel Munoz, the duo embarked on a wonderful adventure, transforming their little flower shop on 8th Avenue into one of New York’s finest and most beloved florists.  In addition to their retail business, the business partners have built a specular special events business that provides flowers and décor for everything from the Tony Awards and Broadway galas to social events for both corporate and private clients. Seasons primarily serves the New York tristate area, however, they have been know to travel to Pennsylvania, Maryland, Washington D.C., Boston and even as far as Bermuda.  Over the past 20 years, Gerald has developed a remarkable talent for working with set decorator’s and designers for both film and television.  The shop's work can be seen on several TV series like The Good Wife, The Good Fight, Mr. Robot, and Tales of the City, not to mention several commercials.  Our film credits include: Hide and Seek, Wanted, 5 to 7, and the upcoming film, Marry Me, starring Jennifer Lopez.

In 2013, Palumbo and Munoz expanded their business into Westchester, NY when they opened their second store in the charming river town of Irvington.  Seasons on the Hudson, at 45 Main Street in Irvington, has become the premiere florist in Westchester and is known for their amazing weddings and special events.  In 2017, Palumbo and Munoz founded the “Lyndhurst Flower Show” held at Lyndhurst Castle in Tarrytown; the finest florists in the New York area are invited to provide amazing florals for the various rooms in the castle and let people experience what it may have been like in the 1800’s when the railroad tycoon, Jay Gould, owned the property.  Over the years, Seasons' events have expanded to include an exclusive High Tea in a cottage on the property, a charming garden shop and an antique show.  The event is always held the first weekend in April.  Unfortunately it was cancelled this year due to Covid 19.

As the team at Seasons begins their exit from this crazy pandemic, they are looking forward to a very bright future filled will beautiful blossoms and...

Sit Down with an Actual Design Star!

Beth walks among the giants of the set design world, and it’s incredible to have the opportunity to get the inside scoop on her process, and to see interiors through her eyes.
Part Hollywood design tell-all, part practical how-to, and 100% inspirational, it all comes together to lend we listeners some of Beth’s genius to use in our own design projects, however humble or grand. It feels like we’re getting a million dollar experience, all for free. Bring on season 2!
