Amazing (and Dynamic)

Addicted. Can’t believe this amazing podcast exists. As a devoted fan of the Defenders from the 70s until the 80s, I love this podcast, even as it goes through the weaker years (Ed Hannigan, I’m looking at you). The hosts are pitch perfect, not just summarizing but also analyzing. Nice to know my favourite zombie (and giant worm) writer is so funny and personable. Great job.

The Badoon women are far more savage than their men!

I never knew how much I needed the Defenders in my life until I began listening to this podcast. Mind you, I had ready quite a few issues of their comic back in the 1970s and 80s, and I have the first few "Marvel Essential" trade paperback collections, so I'm well aware of the team (excuse me, non-team). But it took Brian Keene and Christopher Golden burrowing deep into each issue for me to truly appreciate how radically bizarre this book could be...and I mean that in the very best sense. This show is everything you want a podcast to be: the hosts don't get so insular that you can't follow their narrative, nor do they condescend to the audience. It's not easy to talk into a microphone with zero instant feedback from listeners, and as can be found with some other podcasts, it's all too easy to go off the rails in a situation like that. But Brian and Chris keep things focused and light. The show is a genuine treat!

Great authors talking about an under appreciated comic team.
