Defending Potential was created by Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northeast Pennsylvania. Each episode we take a look at our mission to create and support one-on-one mentoring relationships that ignite the power and promise of youth. With the help of our staff, volunteers, and community, we are defending the youth of Northeast Pennsylvania.

Quiz for Kids' Sake will be happening in place of our annual Bowl for Kids' Sake, which was our biggest fundraiser. Like many, we've had to pivot and are looking to continue to defend the potential of our area youth.
Executive Director Michelle Hamilton

Michelle's arrival coincided with Big Brothers Big Sisters of NEPA transitioning to an independent agency, moving locations, and the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. Bigs in Blue
Community-based programs are integral to the work that Big Brothers Big Sisters does. This episode focuses on a new effort from BBBS NEPA in the East Stroudsburg area called Bigs in Blue. Monroe County Program Specialist Brenna Courtright, Board Member and former Big Ken Gustafson, and Stroud Area Regional Police Force Chief Jennifer Lyon discuss the new program and its potential impact in the area.
