How to Create Positive Body Image

Body image concerns are prevalent, so the question is how do we proactively fight against that pressure and foster a body sense of self and in doing so create a positive body image. Should we just stop talking about body image altogether, how far reaching are the consequences of a negative view on ourselves, what role does social media play and how do we change it for our children? We explore all this and much more with body image researcher Nadia Craddock.

    The Flaws of Perfectionism

    The Flaws of Perfectionism

We so often see perfectionism as a positive flaw but could it be having a detrimental impact on our mental health? We speak to LSE professor Dr Thomas Curran about the rise in perfectionism, the conflict of who we really are versus an idealistic view of ourselves, our increasing focus on meeting unrealistic expectations, the correlation to anxiety, how social media comes into it and how focusing on our self-esteem and purpose can counteract the concerning trends that we’re seeing.

    Simple Tools for Health: Breath

    Simple Tools for Health: Breath

Over the course of the day we take about 25,000 breaths. It’s a process that is so automatic for so many of us but could it be a missing pillar of health? Today we explore the topic of breathing looking at the history and latest scientific research with journalist James Nestor, author of Breath. We look at the potential power of consciously breathing from the roots of breath in Buddhist, the Chinese Tao and the history of yoga to its links to stress, anxiety, mental health; why we should be breathing through our nose; why breathing less can give us more; how office life stops us breathing and how the little things can have a big impact on our lives.

New favorite!

This is hands down my new favorite, if not the best, podcast I’ve listened to. I’m new to Deliciously Ella everything and was refreshingly surprised at the range of interesting and timely topics covered in this podcast. I love that it’s not just about plant based eating but is so well-rounded in its focus on health, happiness, life, and what it means to be human.

On top of that, both Matt and Ella bring a calm but uplifting and curious but knowledgeable perspective to the show making it genuinely enjoyable and interesting to listen to. It feels very approachable for someone who might not have a lot of background or interest in nutrition and wellness.

I’ve been voraciously consuming these episodes since I discovered this a week ago because all of the topics are just so fascinating. Even ones that I initially think may not be interesting to me, turn out to be so thought-provoking and I learn so much thanks to the thoughtful perspectives that Ella and Matt bring and the excellent speakers they bring on.

Thanks Ella and Matt for being so open and vulnerable and for bringing us such thoughtful content with this podcast. I’ve been recommending it to everyone I know!

Fantastic podcast with so much insightful information

I've been listening to all the podcasts and absolutely love them. Knowledgable guests and interesting topics. I especially loved the recent one about breath and have started to implement it a little here and there :) They are all great and I definitely have been recommending them to a lot of my friends!!

Love the podcast!

I have listened and loved your podcast for years and love the range of topics and your insight and rapport with guests. I was delighted to see you in the London episode of Down to Earth with Zac Efron and would love to hear about that experience on your podcast. Thanks for all that you do and pouring your heart into every topic you discuss.
