Is There Life After Death? These Scientists Have Some Fascinating Answers (Minisode #41)

Is There Life After Death? These Scientists Have Some Fascinating Answers (Minisode #41)

We often think the mind is a creation of the brain, or that the mind and the brain are one and the same. But when the brain is offline for a number of reasons, like illness or injury, the mind can sometimes still be very active.

Cases of near-death experiences have been reported since ancient times, and are described by 10% of people whose hearts stop. The medical world has generally ignored these “near-death experiences,” dismissing them as “tricks of the brain” or wishful thinking.
In this week’s mini-episode, Dhru sits down with Dr. Bruce Greyson and Dr. Jim Tucker to talk about some of their most dramatic accounts of near-death experiences and stories of reincarnation from their patients. They share how these experiences can reveal a lot about dying and what might come after, and how they also reveal just as much about what makes a life meaningful and fulfilling.
Dr. Bruce Greyson is a Professor Emeritus of Psychiatry and Neurobehavioral Sciences at the UVA School of Medicine. He was a co-founder and President of the International Association for Near-Death Studies, and Editor of the Journal of Near-Death Studies. His award-winning research led him to become a Distinguished Life Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association and to be invited by the Dalai Lama to participate in a dialogue between Western scientists and Buddhist monks in India. His book, AFTER, is the culmination of almost half a century of scientific research.
Dr. Jim Tucker is the Director of the UVA Division of Perceptual Studies, where he is continuing the work of Ian Stevenson with children who report memories of previous lives. He is the author of Before: Children's Memories of Previous Lives, a new 2-in-1 edition of his books Life Before Life and Return to Life.

How to Reverse and Prevent Insulin Resistance (Minisode #40)

How to Reverse and Prevent Insulin Resistance (Minisode #40)

How to Reverse and Prevent Insulin Resistance | This episode is brought to you by Cozy Earth and Birch Living.
Around the world, we struggle with diseases that were once considered rare. Cancer, heart disease, Alzheimer’s disease, and diabetes affect millions each year. Many people are also struggling with hypertension, weight gain, fatty liver, low testosterone, menstrual irregularities and infertility, and more. We treat the symptoms, not realizing that all of these diseases and disorders have something in common. Each of them is caused or made worse by a condition known as insulin resistance, and over half of all adults in the United States are insulin resistant, with most other countries either worse or not far behind.

In this week’s mini-episode, Dhru sits down with Dr. Ronesh Sinha and Dr. Ben Bikman to talk about why insulin resistance has become so prevalent, what makes us insulin resistant in the first place, and how to reverse and prevent insulin resistance through specific diet and lifestyle modifications.
Dr. Ronesh Sinha is an internal medicine physician who has designed successful health education and wellness programs for over 20 major Silicon Valley companies, launched a medical mobile clinic providing primary care to busy employees, and developed a dedicated consult practice geared to Asians and Indians with insulin resistance and related conditions. He is also the author of The South Asian Health Solution.
Dr. Ben Bikman is a renowned metabolic research scientist, and a popular speaker on human metabolism and nutrition. He is the author of, Why We Get Sick, which offers a thought-provoking yet real solution to insulin resistance and how to reverse pre-diabetes, improve brain function, shed fat, and prevent diabetes.

#229: Should Kids Get a COVID-19 Vaccine? with Pediatrician Dr. Elisa Song

Should Kids Get a COVID-19 Vaccine? with Pediatrician | This episode is brought to you by Cozy Earth and BiOptimizers.
COVID-19 has challenged us like never before. The past year has been full of uncertainties and we continue to face decisions around vaccines, a changing social landscape, and how to protect our families and maintain our quality of life.
The best we can do is stay informed on the constantly evolving research and take into account our family’s unique needs. Parents of young children have the added responsibility of making decisions for them, with limited data. No one can tell you what the right choice is when it comes to getting your child vaccinated. Dhru and Dr. Song have a grounded conversation about what we know and what we still need to find out. They hash out what can be a pretty overwhelming topic into digestible information to help you feel empowered.
Dr. Song is an integrative pediatrician, pediatric Functional Medicine expert, and mama. In her integrative pediatric practice, Whole Family Wellness, she’s helped 1,000s of kids get to the root causes of their health concerns and helped their parents understand how to help their children thrive in body, mind, and spirit by integrating conventional pediatrics with Functional Medicine, homeopathy, acupuncture, herbal medicine, and essential oils.
Dr. Song created Healthy Kids Happy Kids, an online holistic pediatric resource to help practitioners and parents bridge the gap between conventional and integrative pediatrics with an evidence-based, pediatrician-backed approach.
In this episode, we dive into:
-Dr. Song and her family’s experience of being infected with COVID (9:57)

#228: How To Prepare Our Bodies and Minds for The NEXT Pandemic with Dr. Austin Perlmutter

How To Prepare Our Bodies and Minds for The NEXT Pandemic | This episode is brought to you by BLUblox.
Chronic diseases are the top risk factors for death and disability today. They’re also among the top risk factors for having worse outcomes from COVID-19. This implies that much of our risk for worse outcomes from this virus is a reflection of the choices we’ve made in the years and months leading up to the pandemic. In many ways, the stage was set for this pandemic long ago, because it’s not just about the virus—it’s also about the host, and we were already compromised from an immune perspective before COVID-19 existed. This means that we have an opportunity to start making the necessary changes to our physiology, so that we’re better prepared for the next pandemic.
On today’s episode of The Dhru Purohit Podcast, Dhru sits down with Dr. Austin Perlmutter, a board-certified internal medicine physician and New York Times bestselling author. He received his medical degree from the University of Miami and completed his internal medicine residency at Oregon Health and Science University in Portland Oregon. His focus is on helping identify and resolve the biological basis for "stuckness" in the body and brain, especially around decision-making.
He hosts the Get The STUCK OUT podcast and is a co-producer of the Alzheimer's - The Science of Prevention Docu-series. His writing is featured online on MedPage Today, Doximity, KevinMD, Medium, Psychology Today, MindBodyGreen, and DrPerlmutter.com. He is the author of a recent review paper on the interfaces between immune function, depression, and COVID-19.
In this episode, we dive into:
-How our epidemic of chronic diseases have predisposed us to worse outcomes from COVID-19 (4:34)
-The importance of moving away from reactivity to solve our problems (12:03)
-The intersection of COVID-19 and depression (16:02)
    -What’s underlying depression (20:27)
-Dr. Perlmutter’s personal experience with anxiety and depression (25:52)
-The connection between immune health and mental health (36:18)
-How to support and enhance our immune system (45:50)
-The importance of cutting out unnecessary stress (50:16)
-The power of psilocybin and other psychedelic medicines for getting your brain unstuck (1:06:49)

Interested in Levels Continuous Glucose Monitor? Join here: http://levels.link/dhru
Obesity, type 2 diabetes, heart disease, polycystic ovarian syndrome, and Alzheimer’s disease all have one big thing in common—they all involve a component of blood sugar dysregulation. So many other diseases do, too. Considering the rampant use of sugar and flour in our food supply, managing blood sugar is something we should all be thinking about if we want to protect or improve our health.
Thanks to technological advances like continuous glucose monitoring, we can now understand how we respond to carbohydrates like never before. For one person, a sweet potato might be easy to handle metabolically. For another, it could mean a giant rise and fall of blood sugar with a corresponding insulin spike. Some of the foods you might assume are healthy may even be the worst offenders.
Today, Dhru takes a deep dive into blood sugar regulation and precision nutrition with Dr. Casey Means. Dr. Means is a Stanford-trained physician, Chief Medical Officer and Co-founder of metabolic health company Levels, an Associate Editor of the International Journal of Disease Reversal and Prevention, and a Lecturer at Stanford University.
Her mission is to maximize human potential and reverse the epidemic of preventable chronic disease by empowering individuals with tools that can facilitate deep understanding of our bodies and inform personalized and sustainable dietary and lifestyle choices. Dr. Means’ perspective has been recently featured in the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Men's Health, Forbes, Business Insider, Techcrunch, Entrepreneur Magazine, Metabolism, Endocrine Today, and more.
In this episode, we dive into:
-Five surprising foods that spike your blood sugar (6:15)
    -What is insulin resistance (24:27)
-How to achieve metabolic flexibility (34:20)
-The impact of fructose on the body (46:59)

-The best fat to eat (54:18)
-How food sequencing impacts glucose and insulin levels (1:00:51)
-The connection between high blood sugar and rates of COVID infection (1:20:16)
-Foods that might not spike your glucose but should still be avoided (1:35:26)
-How time restricted eating impacts on blood sugar (1:39:24)
    -Optimal glucose ranges (1:43:10)
-What your glucose number should be after you eat a meal (1:45:26)

Truth about COVID vaccines ,

Physicians rights

Let’s address the fact that physicians rights in calling the shots on whether autistic children, children with ADHD and learning difficulties, children with autoimmune conditions should be told that all vaccines are contraindicated in those cases. Doctors who have stepped up to dispute the safety of these vaccines have lost their licenses.
The same occurred in the 90’s when bright integrative doctors stated that Lyme Disease was chronic and had lifelong neurological deficits. These doctors ordered IV rocephin in patients homes, were sued by insurance companies, the AMA and the FDA, and ultimately lost their licenses. Some were imprisoned.

The same is occurring with the COVID vaccines, data is being hidden by pharmaceutical companies, especially the possibility of mRNA through reverse transcriptase, having the potential to turn iff cancer suppressing genes.
We treat patients with children who have had vaccine related injuries. It is expensive, the average parent CANNOT afford IV Vit C, ozone, hyperthermia, etc etc. let’s tell the truth to parents about what can happen and the extraordinary expense in trying to normalize these children. Why are the top integrative docs not telling the truth?

There is only one internationally known integrative doctor, Dr Dietrich Klinghardt, WHO SHOULD BE INTERVIEWED ON THESE PODCASTS. He is not because doctors are dominated by the government and Big Pharma—our medical education in jaded by Pharma, and we are afraid to tell the truth. Or brain washed.

One listens to Doctors radio on Sirius and every doctor sounds robotic in their support of Fauci and inability to research for themselves. We’ve even heard cardiologists say that Omega 3s show no benefit in CV health!!! Imagine the audacity and stupidity. Why? There studies are often funded by Big Pharma.
The average elderly person can receive as many as 70 vaccines in their lifetimes. The adjuvants can kill us, esp aluminum and thimersol. Infants vaccines can be administered knowing they have gentamicin in them, destroying the microbiome of a new life.

Dr Zach Bush and Dr Dietrich Klinghardt are masterful healers and not afraid to tell the truth.
Same for Dr Stephanie Seneff, PhD from MIT.

I encourage parents to watch their YouTube videos, if they haven’t already been deleted by non-medical professionals.

At stake here is that the pharmaceutical companies are making hundreds of millions of dollars in profit, ordered by the government, and most integrative doctors are afraid to tell the truth as it may cost them their licenses.

If a child incurs a lifetime autoimmune/neurodegenerative/cognitive adverse reaction, the cost is shouldered by parents as the manufacturers of vaccines cannot be sued.

All of our integrative therapies are too expensive for the average person.

Dr Hyman yourself have probably spent hundreds of thousands of dollars trying to be cured of chronic Lyme Dz and mold toxicity. Do you think your path is affordable to the general public?

My wish is that you would interview those brilliant doctors who are not afraid to tell the truth and have done ample research.
