Demystifying Emerging Technologies for Entrepreneurs of Color and Underserved Communities with Ifiok and Monk Inyang

Demystifying Emerging Technologies for Entrepreneurs of Color and Underserved Communities with Ifiok and Monk Inyang

Can AI break barriers for underserved communities?

On this episode of Digital Transformation Success, host and Little Bird Marketing CEO, Priscilla McKinney talks with brothers Ifiok and Monk Inyang, co-founders of 1st Street Partnerships, about empowering entrepreneurs and creators of color through the emerging technology of generative AI.

Growing up in a poorer, working-class environment in Newark, NJ, the Inyang brothers understand the challenges faced by underserved communities. They recognize that a lack of resources often means these communities have no cushion to fail, with minor setbacks potentially setting them back years if not decades. But there is a solution, and it lies not just in providing hardware like laptops, but in harnessing the power of generative AI.

Their approach involves providing strategies for modern problem-solving, identifying necessary tools, and teaching how to use them effectively. This education-focused method helps build a supportive community, fostering B2B-cross-team collaboration.

"The way [underserved communities] interact with AI can be a very embracing moment,” Ifiok explains. “We can use it to break down the biases that we have… that keep brilliant minds out of certain industries."

McKinney and the Inyang brothers also highlight the compounding barriers these communities face, noting that most industry gatekeepers are not people of color. They see AI as a game-changer, offering entrepreneurs less expensive, entry-level solutions. Their vision extends to partnering with academia, government, and public service organizations to increase access and expand the community of AI users.

Building Your Social Influence with a Thought Leadership Strategy with Dan Wasserman

If there is a king of thought leadership on AI in healthcare market research, today’s guest might be it.
On this episode of Digital Transformation Success, host, digital transformation specialist and Little Bird Marketing CEO Priscilla McKinney, along with guest and KJT COO Dan Wasserman, discuss the importance of networking and thought leadership in today’s digital world. As an accomplished operations leader with extensive experience in digital strategy, research, and technology, Wasserman leads his company’s strategy and AI initiatives, advancing innovation and corporate sustainability, while at the same time upholding ethical standards.
Wasserman shares insights into his role leading strategy and the AI initiative at KJT, emphasizing the importance of formalizing a company's voice through building relationships and fostering a strong employee base, as well as his approach to thought leadership, focusing on experimental AI and his commitment to authentic and original content. One of his top posts stems from his frustration with AI chat bot cheat sheets, highlighting his dedication to practical and useful information.
“The things that got the best feedback,” Wasserman explains. “[Was] when I was providing some valuable resource to [people].”
Wasserman also shares valuable lessons learned through teamwork and networking. He notes that while everyone has unique experiences, combining them can create a sum greater than its parts. To mitigate potential blind spots, Dan and his team prioritize communication and positive affirmation, often sharing useful information with a simple, “Hey, I thought you might like this.” This approach underscores the importance of continuous learning and improvement.
His perspective highlights the continuous journey of improvement and the collective strength derived from collaborative efforts. By commenting on others' work and accepting feedback, he ensures that he and his team remain adaptable and forward-thinking in the ever-evolving landscape of AI and healthcare research.

Emerging Technologies in AI that are Accelerating Digital Transformation with Jason Sherman

Emerging Technologies in AI that are Accelerating Digital Transformation with Jason Sherman

AI ain’t just for the big guys anymore.
On this episode of Digital Transformation Success, host and CEO of Little Bird Marketing, Priscilla McKinney, and guest Jason Sherman discuss how AI is revolutionizing community engagement and communication.
A successful innovator, award-winning filmmaker, published author, and tech startup expert, Sherman is the CEO and co-founder of both the video friendship app Spinnr and the AI creation platform Vengo AI, and has been featured in major media outlets like the Wall Street Journal, USA Today and The Verge, among others.
Reflecting on the pandemic, when loneliness was at an all-time high, Sherman highlights how the internet, initially meant to connect people, often did the opposite. In response, he launched Spinnr to foster positive interactions among people with similar hobbies and interests, extending these connections into the real world. Spinnr encourages community engagement and combats the isolation exacerbated by the digital age.
Along with Spinnr is Vengo AI, which emerged to meet the demand from Spinnr customers who wanted to customize their own AI programs, as Spinnr's technology remained closed source. As he explains, user feedback is crucial in overcoming challenges and improving AI technologies, a common practice in the field. The creator marketplace is a significant factor behind Vengo’s success, allowing users to train their AI to read various data and interact authentically with followers.
“We are democratizing AI,” Sherman explains. “We are giving it to the people [for free], so you can now use it just like the big boys are doing.”
Sherman and McKinney also discuss the financing involved in the digital transformation experience, like securing grants and investors, while bigger companies like Microsoft and Nvidia backing similar initiatives, as well as the importance of training AI to understand human interactions, enabling it to respond naturally and engage more effectively with users. This approach not only enhances the user experience but also broadens the accessibility of AI technologies, making them available to a wider audience.

LIVE from IIEX - What Brands Need for Greater Influence on Today's Consumers with Henry Bremhorst and Ryan Wagner

The biggest mistake a business can make is to ignore data they may already have.

On today’s episode of Digital Transformation Success, recorded live at the Greenbook IIEX Conference in Austin, TX, host and digital transformation specialist Priscilla McKinney and guests Henry Bremhorst and Ryan Wagner delve into what brands require to exert greater influence on today's consumers.

Bremhorst, with over a decade of experience in media intelligence and senior director at Meltwater, specializes in leveraging data insights to drive brand advancement, collaborating with communicators, marketers, and PR professionals to break down barriers and employ a data-driven approach. Wagner, a data-driven digital innovator renowned for his expertise in partnerships and technology and current Head of Partnerships at Point 600, specializes in data visualization, unlocking insights and informing strategic decision-making, constantly pushing the boundaries of technology and data analysis.

McKinney, Bremhorst and Wagner tackle the pervasive issue of data ignorance in the business landscape, emphasizing the critical need to initiate conversations. Astonishingly, 70% of first-party data remains untapped, underscoring the importance of data preparation to harness this valuable resource effectively.
“There’s a lot of news and social media content out there,” Bremhorst explains. “If you don’t have a net… you don’t have the effective tools to pull in the fish, then you’re probably going to be making a mess.”

The trio also explores modern A.I. solutions for analyzing internal marketing and sales data, integration and automation and the subsequent task of humanizing it for customers and influencers alike.
Join us as we unravel the benefits of data-driven marketing, as well as potential hurdles to overcome.

Digitally Transforming Predictive Climate Models for Data-Driven Decisions

Digitally Transforming Predictive Climate Models for Data-Driven Decisions

Companies need to be better prepared for what’s coming next. This is true as new categories of products emerge, in technological disruption and of course, with how the climate is changing. But climate change is often an overwhelming topic and businesses often don’t see this as a place where they could use data for better decision making.
But if you worked in insurance, real estate, energy, farming, or fishing you can immediately see the value in knowing what is going to happen in the weather 2-3 months and even 2-3 years out. In fact, the more data you could get with the most amount of precision would be a game changer.
    Enter Planette.
Leading-edge companies, organizations, and governments are digitally transforming their strategic planning by using data to be better prepared for what’s next in the physical world. Climate change is inevitable so instead the way we are adapting is what is meaningful. In order to do this you need data that is actionable as early as possible.
Hansi Singh, CEO and co-founder of Planette gives us a few real-world scenarios of how climate adaptiveness and resiliency is a positive outcome of a digital transformation around weather and climate data. This climate tech startup specializes in year-ahead forecasts of environmental variables and extreme weather risks.
