    “Time For Change” | S2 E6

Tara Lee had the opportunity to quietly do her prison time and follow through on the court’s orders, but she just couldn’t do it. Tara began making statements that she was innocent; she didn’t complete the victim impact statement recordings as ordered by the court; and she began filing appeals to have her conviction vacated, all of which kept her firmly in the Detroit headlines.

So, where does Tara’s case stand now? Have Tara’s victims been able to move on since her incarceration? Is there anything people who are looking to adopt can do to protect themselves from falling victim to predators like Tara? What even drives someone to behave the way Tara did?

    “The Worst Case” | S2 E5

Tara Lee’s sentence hearing was attended by dozens of her victims, many of whom traveled great distances to see her be punished. They sobbed while giving statements to the court about how Tara hurt them. Some people even addressed Tara directly.

It wasn’t only adoptive families speaking, birth mothers and fathers, people who had their children taken from them without their consent all made their voices heard. Victim statements were given for over six hours, each person demanding justice for their broken families. Tara even spoke to the court, but would the judge be swayed by Tara’s emotional apology?

“To Bond or Not to Bond” | S2 E4

Tara Lee told horrible lies about birth mothers being murdered, babies dying during childbirth, or mothers deciding to keep their babies when, in reality ..there wasn’t a mother or baby at all. Thanks to the efforts of several adoptive parents and the lawyers who worked with Tara, the FBI was notified and given a ton of information to go on as they began investigating her. The FBI also identified a woman who helped Tara pull off some of her schemes and as it turned out, this wasn’t her first rodeo either.

Great show

So glad I found this show. Keep it up!

Dragging Out Content

I don’t like this show. A bunch of yip yapping and dragging out the story for no reason. A gazillion episodes about Tara Lee repeating the same stuff over and over. We get it Tara Lee is a scammer and horrible person who took advantage of innocent people by exploiting their vulnerabilities. Good grief stop trying to drag out the episodes by asking guests to join the show to rehash junk you’ve already talked about 450 times already.

TOO MANY ADS!

I enjoy the show and I like Jami’s style of narration.

However, after listening to many episodes I just can’t anymore. The number of ads is excessive. They’re intrusive and distracting. They are poorly placed and annoying to try to skip through. Some of the episodes have so many ads that they cover almost half of the total run time of the story being told!

I understand that ads help pay the bills, but maybe cut down on some of the bills so that the ads can be cut down.

Ads are infuriating. Literally NO ONE likes advertising. Advertising is a form of unwelcome psychological manipulation, which is nefarious and evil in and of itself.

Podcasters need to figure out a way to produce their content without subjecting their audiences to greed-centric mind games.

Capitalism is a disease that is crippling this country and it’s a disease that’s killing people every day. If we don’t begin to stand United against this disease we can never be cured from it!

STOP WITH THE ADS!
