Every week, Nate, Ben, ad Eric, with the occasional special guest, talk movies and entertainment news, and then play a series of movie-related games, including the central game, The Pitch, wherein our heroes take a concept and try and turn it into a working movie. Most of the time the podcasts will just descend into girlish laughter. Other reoccurring games include Defend Yourself, where one person must defend their enjoyment of an indefensible movie, Sequel-ize It, Porno-ize It, Recast It, Genre Swap, Adapt the Unadaptable, and Vanity Project, wherein our heroes tailor a movie project to a star.

    Ep. 429: Switch the Pitch -- "White House Down" (2012) Meets Arq (2016) -- Time Loop President Action Movie!

    The "Dirty Sons of Pitches" have returned with the long-awaited follow-up where they are pitching in real-time a fleshed out new movie project based upon "White House Down" and the time loop movie, "Arq." It's presidential action with a time loop twist. It's nice to be back to being creative during these... trying times. Available on Spotify and Apple Episode 429 includes: -So... what have we been up to lately then? -The guys have a new YouTube pop-culture essay channel that you can view here. The guys continue a discussion over the ownership of art and interpretation begun from Nate's "Donnie Darko" video.  -Ben and Nate discuss the new James Gunn "Superman" trailer as wel as what their hopes are for this big new introduction of thi classic hero.  -Switch the Pitch -- "White House Down" Meets Arq" -The guys spend the next almost-hour pitching a fun and politically relevant sci-fi action movie where the new president is thrust into action to save the country from the previous administration and its cronies.

    Ep. 428: New 2025 Movies plus a New Pitch Target

    The "Dirty Sons of Pitches" have returned from their slumber to discuss several 2025 movies they have seen in the first few months of the year, as well as a handful of late releases from the previous year. the guys discuss the dumpster-fire of current events as well as changes going forward with the pdocast both in format and direction. Stay tuned for an actual Switch the Pitch for their intended creative writing project target, which you'll have to discover by the end of the episode. Also, enjoy the sounds of Nate's baby and his commentary throughout and general enjoyment listenign to the sound of his own voice. Available on Apple and Spotify Episode 428 includes: -The new "Captain America: Brave New World" isn't very new or brave. -Nate sings the praises of "The Gorge" and not so much "The Electric State." -The guys enoyed Bong Joon-ho's "Mickey 17" with some reservations, especially with the Trumpy stuff.  -Nate's two favorite movies of 2025 so far are "The Monkey" and "The Companion." -The guys actually defend "A Mincraft Movie" as one of the more fun movies of the year. -Stay tuned for the next episode as the guys go through a series of pitch combos to land on a project to pitch.

    Ep. 425: The Anthologist -- "Four Rooms" (1995)

    The "Dirty Sons of Pitches" are back with asuper-sized episode and some major personal updates as well as a conclusion for their latest series watching and discussing anthology films. For this final edition, the guys chat 1995's indie movie anthology, "Four Rooms," with four different segments directed by a different director, including the likes of Robert Rodriguez and Quentin Tarantino. Nate's father, beloved co-star of the "My Dad & the Movies" podcast series that they've recorded since 2022.
