    Josh Homme was born in Joshua Tree and grew up in Palm Desert, California. He founded Queens of the Stone Age in 1996 and is the lead singer, primary songwriter and guitarist in the band. Josh is one of the music industry's most prolific collaborators. Alongside Queens, he formed the supergroup Them Crooked Vultures in 2009 with Dave Grohl (Foo Fighters) and John Paul Jones (Led Zeppelin), and has produced music for Arctic Monkeys, Iggy Pop, Lady Gaga and many more. Queens of the Stone Age released their latest album, In Times New Roman, in 2023.



    To mark the final episode of the series, Angela makes some extra-special dishes for Josh, while Nick mixes his favourite cocktail, a Corvette Summer. To start, Angela prepares bone marrow and a parsley salad, a recipe from chef Fergus Henderson’s book Nose to tail eating: A Kind of British Cooking. For main, it’s grilled mackerel, beetroot and red onion salad, and this meal is paired with a delicious La Perrière Pouilly-Fumé Loire by the experts at Waitrose.



    Josh Homme is about as rock and roll as it gets, and Nick and Ange probe him on his backstage habits and what he likes on his rider. Josh talks about his treasured 15-year friendship with the late Anthony Bourdain, and shares the hilarious comment Elton John made to him before taking to the stage for the final time in his career at Glastonbury 2023.

    Danny Dyer and Ryan Sampson, slow-roast shoulder of lamb and an old-fashioned

    Danny Dyer was discovered by a scout while at school in East London and landed his first acting role in Prime Suspect 3 in 1994. He gained a reputation for playing the tough guy and films like Human Traffic (1999) and The Football Factory (2004) put him on the road to stardom. Danny is most famous for his portrayal of Mick Carter in EastEnders from 2013 to 2022.



    Ryan Sampson was born in Rotherham and studied acting at Drama Centre London. He began his career on stage in various theatrical productions. His big break came in 2013, when he played Grumio in the historical sitcom Plebs on ITV2. Ryan also appeared in Brassic with  Michelle Keegan in 2019. Ryan wrote and stars in the new comedy series Mr Bigstuff with Danny Dyer.



    As a sign of what’s to come, Danny and Ryan request a glass of something strong before they sit down at the Dish table. Nick obliges and pours some Edmundo Malbec, an Argentinian red, recommended by the experts at Waitrose. He then gets to work on their favourite cocktail, an old fashioned. Meanwhile, Angela is busy in the kitchen slow-roasting a shoulder of lamb with anchovies, oregano and garlic with roast potatoes. 



    Danny and Ryan are an unlikely pair but their chemistry is undeniable, making this Dish double-date unmissable. Our foursome talks vinaigrettes, pesto and couscous before tackling the important topic of modern masculinity, inspired by their new show, out now on Sky.

    Anne-Marie Duff, a courgette and pea tart and an Assyrtiko

    Anne-Marie Duff is one of the UK’s most respected actresses. Born and raised in London, she performed at family gatherings from an early age and was soon honing her craft at an amateur theatre company. Her stage career began in 1994 and roles in War and Peace, King Lear and Collected Stories alongside Helen Mirren raised her profile. In 2004, Anne-Marie was cast as Fiona McBride in Shameless and many notable TV and film roles followed. She is best known for appearances in Nowhere Boy, The Magdalene Sisters and Sex Education. In 2023, Anne-Marie won a Bafta TV award for her portrayal of Grace in Bad Sisters.



    Angela whips up a deliciously light and seasonal courgette and pea tart for Anne-Marie, while Nick pours a delicate and fruity Zacharias Assyrtiko from Greece.

    Perrie Edwards hails from South Shields and has musical roots - her mum was a soul singer and her dad played in rock bands on the northern club scene for many years. Perrie had to be convinced to audition for The X Factor at 17, but went on to win the show with Little Mix in 2011. The band scored five UK number one singles and became the first British girl group since the Spice Girls to have a debut album enter the top five in the US. In 2022, Little Mix decided to take a hiatus from music to be with their families and now are pursuing solo projects.



    Perrie released her debut single Forget About Us, written by Ed Sheeran, in April and her second single Tears is out now. She has been in the studio with RAYE working on her upcoming album, which is due for release later this year.



    Perrie loves Indian food, so Angela obliges with some tasty green tikka masala chicken skewers. The experts at Waitrose pair this meal with a light and summery Côte des Roses Organic Languedoc rosé.



    Nick and Perrie know each other from the Radio 1 days and catch up on life after Little Mix. This episode could be described as confessional, with Perrie admitting she regularly forgets dance routines, orders mostly takeaways for tea and cannot stop watching Naked Attraction.

    Proud Mancunian Emma Barnett is an award-winning journalist, broadcaster and author. She began in print journalism before landing a job on radio at LBC in 2012. Emma became known for her agenda-setting interviews, delivered in a warm but forensic manner, and it wasn’t long before a career at the BBC beckoned. She hosted a daily three-hour show on Radio 5 Live for many years before moving to Radio 4 to front Woman’s Hour, a show that became the BBC’s most downloaded podcast under her stewardship.



    Emma recently made the move to the Today programme, the BBC’s flagship breakfast news show, as she assumes a wider role across BBC TV and News, fronting documentaries and exclusive interviews.

    East London comedy and stage actor Kiell Smith-Bynoe studied drama and began gigging and writing sketch shows from a young age. His hit improv show Kool Story Bro sold out in London and the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. Kiell landed his first professional TV job on the ITV drama Whitechapel in 2012. He is best known for his roles in Stath Lets Flats on Channel 4 and in the much-loved BBC series Ghosts, which ended in 2023 after five series. Kiell can now add presenting to his list of skills, having taken over from Sara Pascoe as the new host of The Great British Sewing Bee on the BBC.



    Nick pours Kiell his favourite drink, a tequila and apple juice, while Angela prepares some sticky barbacoa ribs with grilled peaches and slaw. The experts at Waitrose pair the meal with a Lentsch Zweigelt, the most popular red wine in Austria.

Utter Joy

I have no idea how I came across this podcast but it’s exactly what I need. My days are long and drawn out for reasons I won’t get into, but when I listen to an episode or four I find myself thinking about the little moments in life that I usually ignore and find the joy in them as you both share when it comes to food. Thank you for sharing your thoughts, experiences and tips.
