For this week’s episode of Shift the Narrative, we are sharing the conversation we had with our special guest Dr. Edward Antonio, the Vice President of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion at Marist College in Poughkeepsie, New York. Dr. Antonio was invited to join the President's Cabinet in October of 2021, but before taking his position at Marist, he had accumulated nearly twenty years of advanced diversity, equity, and inclusion (also known as DEI) experience. He also has 25 years of experience teaching undergraduate and graduate students at universities in Europe, Africa, and the United States. Host Jianella Zegarra and our guest Dr. Antonio open up an important conversation for students, faculty, and society regarding the importance and value of diversity, equity, and inclusion. Deep diving into the evolution of DEI and the contrasting views between generations, and current events in our society regarding this topic. Diversity is one of the core pillars of SNR, and we are committed to extending our perspectives through inviting and considering any and all concepts brought forward by team members. Our strategies are composed through a variety of minds, backgrounds and skills. We celebrate all people and the creative genius that each of us possesses. Keep listening to learn more about the importance of diversity, equity, and inclusion, and how it can help you Shift the Narrative.
