Issue 110: Irredeemable – Finally, a Superman that Kills Kids

    The Plutonian Man Cometh!

Superman has gone rogue! Or… not-Superman has gone rogue and it’s up to the not-Justice League to stop him! Darryl, Phil, and Sly take a trip through the first eight issues of Mark Waid’s Irredeemable, and emerge out the other end… feeling bad for a genocidal killer? Best to listen to the podcast and not take that statement out of context!

Darryl can’t let go of his “-Man” suffix, Phil is the only person that knows the difference between Scylla and Charybdis, and Sly could do without all the sexual deviancy (that isn’t cucking.)

Back Issues 4: Grounded – Go Walk it Off

This looks like a job for… Superman???

It’s the end of the year, which means we’ve compiled our favorites and least favorites of 2019! It was a pretty packed year, so things might shake out differently than you’d expect! Not only that, but Phil and Darryl dive into Superman: Grounded, and walk away from that long walk feeling pretty good.

    Special Edition 9: An X-Men X-Mas

    Special Edition 9: An X-Men X-Mas

    Even aliens celebrate the holidays.

Ho ho ho-ly cow! It’s been another year which means it’s time for another Christmas-themed podcast! This time the Divisive Issues crew will be diving into the X-Men animated series as well as X-Men Evolution. Gather ’round the fire and let us regale you with tales of scorpions, alien girls, and flying angels…

Ryan becomes the defender of the downtrodden sewer folk, Darryl keeps thinking the leader of the Morlocks is a greek nymph, Sly evolves his opinion on x-mas specials, and Phil believes in angels.

    Issue 109: Bleach Part 7 – The End (7)

    Issue 109: Bleach Part 7 – The End (7)

Praise be to Yhwach that it’s finally ending!

This is it! Ichigo must race to the soul palace to save the Soul King! Or… does he have to? Does it matter? Does any of this matter? The DI crew is losing their minds trying to process what is happening at the very end of Bleach, bringing us to perhaps the most daunting question of all: Would we recommend Bleach?

Darryl pronounces omniscience as “am-nish-sense” like a paulo stulti, Phil’s favorite fight ends on a whimper, Sly has had his fill of “BAN-KAI!” hype moments, and Ryan now knows the meaning of TRUE despair.

Issue 108: Bleach Part 6 – Behold, the Goofiest Arc

Issue 108: Bleach Part 6 – Behold, the Goofiest Arc

It’s a mad, mad, mad, mad monk.

We’re back at it! Our saga through Bleach is nearing its close as we discuss the final two arcs left in the series. The first 30 minutes are spent discussing the “filler” arc, and then it’s on to the craziest, dumbest, and worst-drawn arc yet!

Darryl calls Tatsuki “Taki” like a Soulcalibur scrub, Phil is a big supporter of the Quincy monarchy, Sly has a bone to pick with the german alphabet, and Ryan is actually sick this podcast—whether from germs or Bleach, we can’t tell. Also, sorry about Phil’s audio blips an hour in—nothing we can do about that.

Issue 107: Spider-Man: The Lost Years – An Intro to the Clone Saga

Issue 107: Spider-Man: The Lost Years – An Intro to the Clone Saga

On this episode, we’re diving into the torrid history of The Clone Saga, and we’re bringing our non-fans Darryl and Phil kicking and screaming into Ben Reilly’s tragic backstory. We cover his lab-grown birth, the discovery of his own unique identity, and his struggle with yet another clone, KAINE. Only after we record do we realize all the crime bible jokes we could’ve made.

We’re currently cloning Ryan so he doesn’t get a chance to participate, but Sly tries his best to lay out the Clone Saga for us while Darryl feels Ben’s identity crisis and Phil really gets into shouting Kaine’s lines.

Customer Reviews

Meghan Griffin ,

A good good comic podcast

These good good boys analyze comics in a hilarious way that also shows that they put time and effort into their thoughts and reviews, not just judging based on author's or artist's name alone.

Spider-Uk ,

A terrific podcast for any comic fan!

I am super into this podcast. It’s a great show with a dynamite team of co-hosts. With an extensive long box of shows ready for download, there is sure to be at least one episode to get you hooked on this hilarious and insightful look into comics. I only wish it could come out more frequently, but like we observed with Watchmen, delays are inevitable when creators perfect their work.

Podcasters choice

As a podcaster myself, I cannot recommend this program enough. These gentlemen curse like sailors but still come off as endearing and friendly. They know their comics, and the are not afraid to be swayed from their opinions if the argument is good. Also, they love freedom. Yeah... that's the ticket...
