Doctor Who: A MadMan with a Box Podcast

A Doctor Who podcast in which whovians both famous and not so discuss their favorite or possibly least favorite episodes of the show with host Stephen Prescott.
Great Podcast For Who Fans!

I really like the format of this show. The host has a guest that picks an episode to discuss and they have an interesting conversation about it. You also get a bit of back story about how the guest became a fan and who their favorite Doctor is. It's authentic Doctor Who love, plenty of fun!
Good man with a box

An above average Who podcast. Yes, it's still yet another "bunch of guys sit around a mic and, with varying degrees of sound quality, wax poetically about Doctor Who," but it has a lot less giggling and time wasting than many (almost any podcast over an hour is usually full of unedited raff that forces your hand to FF a little too often). The host here is intelligent and keeps the conversation moving, although he tends to agree with his guests a little too much and often fails to ask provocative interview questions (a little conflict and disagreement is what makes for interesting conversation. If everyone in the room keeps agreeing you might as well be talking to yourself). He should be a little more confrontational and try to drop his fannish front just a tad (at least for the discussions). But regardless, the guests are usually a good listen and, unlike many other DW podcasts, I find myself listening to more episodes of this one without wanting to tear my headphones off over the idiocy. Keep it going! And watch those mic levels ;-)

...and I've enjoyed what I've heard so far! Keep up the good work! And as a former member of the 1980s era "Doctor Who Fan Club of America," I can tell you that the term Whovian is most certainly not a Tumblr thing. The DWFCA newsletter was called the "Whovian Times"!
Excellent rambling about Who

I just found this podcast and I am so pleased I did! I've added it to my subscriptions because Mad Man with a Box is going to help me get through the long, empty summer until the 50th anniversary. It's a worthy discussion of our favorite program with often a very different viewpoint from my own (which can have me exclaim, "No, no, you're wrong!", but as I'm alone in the car, it's ok to do that). I appreciate the thoughtful consideration they give each topic and their love of Who. Much thanks, guys.
