Very good but…..

Jason Moon is an excellent story teller. It’s certainly not a cut and dry situation. The adults in Josh’s life are to blame. A very sad story of no one able to break the cycle of abuse and addiction.
Should be required listening

Have newly discovered Jason Moon after listening to 𝙔𝙤𝙪𝙩𝙝 𝘿𝙚𝙩𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝘾𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙚𝙧. It was refreshing to listen to an intelligent, concise but at the same time incredibly well researched podcast. Although I felt it was short, I didn’t find it lacking or rushed & it is far more preferable than stories that are stretched over an excessive number of episodes; which, unfortunately is the norm for most podcasts. Having just found a collection of stories resulting from his investigative journalism (I immediately searched his name after completing the aforementioned podcast), I am having trouble stepping away and am already half way through! The quality of his storytelling & research has been consistently excellent throughout. Also, I have found a number of true crime podcast (s&s being the biggest offender thus far imho)hosts are incredibly judgmental, jump to ridiculous conclusions that they report as fact based & go on unhinged tangents, often calling out specific sn’s/ppl, when they read a review or hear someone speak on these issues. So it is a wonderful thing, to find a host who is compassionate/empathetic in his approach, addresses very real issues of systemic racism & addiction & deals in facts. No put downs or hate speech here. I’ve read a few reviews complaining about the host addressing race. It would be dishonest we’re he to not address a very real aspect/problem that is affecting/infecting our justice system. And I have found that if the people that are upset by this-let’s be real- anyone bothered by the mention of race, tend to be those who have been unaffected due to race or social status & are also obviously apathetic, unable to view anything that doesn’t/hasn’t impacted them directly. I’d like to address one more complaint I’ve read in a couple of reviews. People who use name calling to degrade Josh, a subject of one of the seasons. Spouting hatefulness and saying he deserves what he gets. Ew. I agree with scepticalmarshmallow and his insightful review. Also, ezg5141, who is dead on when he talks about the people who agree with/are pushing for prosecuting addicts for selling drugs that result in death, but those same prosecuting attorneys are unwilling to go after gun manufacturers & the civilians that aren’t pushing for them to go after gun manufacturers are hypocritical in that they are practically foaming at the mouth in their desire for prosecuting addicts yet they could gaf about guns- I’m pretty sure most of them are of the ‘’Murcah you can’t take my guns!’ variety. Miss me with that ignorant nonsense. I guess what I’m getting at after all that, it’s well worth listening to & in imo Jason Moon is one of the best podcast hosts I’ve found.
