Insiders Talk Dodgers Free Agents, Resetting the 40-Man Roster and More

After a week of transactions that changed the complexion of the roster, we take time to reset the 40-man and list some names that could be on the chopping block next when the Dodgers eventually do get to signing players this offseason.
Next, we dive into the latest rumors and rumblings involving the boys in blue including the reported interest in star Japanese outfielder Seiya Suzuki. Where and how would Suzuki fit in on the roster and how much could he cost LA after all is said and done.
Our big Corey Seager update includes a conversation with Dodgers insider Justin Turner who shared his thoughts on Seager, Kenley Jansen, Clayton Kershaw, and Chris Taylor who are going through free agency. Some for the first time. Plus do Turner's words on Kershaw make it seem like the ace leaving LA could be more in the realm of possibility than we realize?
Plus thoughts on hot stove moves from around the league including the Angels signing Noah Syndergaard and the Giants reportedly inking three starting pitchers. And a 2022 MLB Hall of Fame ballot argument.

Dodgers Cold Stove, Official Free Agent Predictions, CBA Talk, and Baseball with a Brit!

Dodgers Cold Stove, Official Free Agent Predictions, CBA Talk, and Baseball with a Brit!

The Blue Heaven boys are back but things are a little slow in the rumors department with the Dodgers. And MLB as a whole. With the threat of a lockout imminent, players, teams, and agents are playing it close to the vest with who's going where this winter.
First, the Dodgers made the Andrew Heaney signing official last week and now the Detroit Tigers have inked LHP Eduardo Rodriguez to a 5-year deal, but that's it in terms of player movement. Rumors wise, LA has been linked to the Reds in trade talks and another free agent left-hander in Steven Matz. Plus we talk a bit about Bill Plaschke's stolen idea about signing Carlos Correa this offseason.
Later in the show we talk a bit about the latest with the CBA battle between the players union and the league and not only share why there will definitely be a lockout but drop our thoughts on how long it goes. Plus our official, locked in Dodger free agent predictions -- who will return and where are they going if they don't? And a just for fun segment featuring our UK colleague Alex Harrington from sister site Grand Tour Nation.
There's some In-n-Out talk for good measure as well.

The Dodgers Sign Andrew Heaney... Why? Plus Kershaw Contract Thoughts

The Dodgers Sign Andrew Heaney... Why? Plus Kershaw Contract Thoughts

On Monday, the Dodgers shocked the baseball world by opening the offseason with the first splash of the signing period. The most shocking part was that they signed free agent pitcher Andrew Heaney. The left-hander is coming off of a very rough season and is reportedly signing an $8.5 deal with LA. We discuss the why and the what and the why with Heaney.
Plus thoughts on how the Dodgers handled the club's qualifying offers for this offseason and a deep dive into what's next with Clayton Kershaw contract wise.
And finally, some Dodger fans are feeling snubbed in this year's MLB awards season.

Dodgers Free Agent Hot Stove Primer, Talking Kershaw, Scherzer, Seager, Kris Bryant and More

Dodgers Free Agent Hot Stove Primer, Talking Kershaw, Scherzer, Seager, Kris Bryant and More

While we wait for the conclusion of the 2021 World Series, which is still rudely going on, we figured it was a prime time to start looking ahead to the offseason hot stove in earnest. With that, the guys talk Clayton Kershaw, Max Scherzer, Kenley Jansen, Corey Seager, and every other Dodgers free agent heading out on the open market this week.
Quickly, the discussion goes sentimental on the Kershaw front. Is he a must re-sign guy? What kind of contract is fair for the 34-year-old legend who is coming off his first-ever season-ending injury? And is retirement truly on the table? As for Max Scherzer, is he the right guy to go in on as the team looks for a bridge to top tier pitching prospects in the minor leagues?
Plus what is the likelihood that Kenley Jansen and Corey Seager have played their last games in Dodger blue? And is free agent third baseman Kris Bryant a good fit for Andrew Friedman and the Dodgers this offseason?
There's plenty of fussin' and fightin' and bickering in this one!

Dodgers 2021 Season Post Mortem, Early Offseason Thoughts, Bold Takes And More

Dodgers 2021 Season Post Mortem, Early Offseason Thoughts, Bold Takes And More

The Dodgers fell to the Braves in 6 games in the NLCS and went home early once again. With that, it's unfortunately now time to look ahead at what is set to be a busy offseason for the LA front office. But first, we look back at the 2021 season and where things really started going wrong for these Dodgers.
Injures tell the greater story of the campaign with Dustin May being the biggest early loss. Despite that happening all the way back in May, it just might have proven to be most costly in October. The narrow view, short version of the story sees LA relying heavily on Walker Buehler and Julio Urias without a quality young innings eater like Dustin around which led to the pair of aces burning out when it mattered most.
Of course, no early postseason exit would be complete without discussions on managerial decisions made by Dave Roberts. We talk about the "fire Dave Roberts" crowd and whether analytics should be ditched in October.
Moving to offseason talk, the guys pick their top trade candidates for the winter ahead.

Connected

I started listening to the pod 4 yr ago, while living in Colorado. It kept me updated and connected to the Dodgers Nation while living in lame Rockies country. Now living in Reno, NV, and back in Giants territory, you guys bring the hard hitting facts and sometimes silliness to keep this girl coming back to the pod and feeling connected to Blue! Go Dodgers💙
