Entertaining show

Good in-depth dissection of a variety of films.

Good on content, frustrating on production

I was excited to discover this podcast since I'm absolutely the target audience: I saw a lot of these movies as a kid and I love listening to podcasts that take an analytical and sometimes critical eye to the pop culture stuff I enjoy.

While the hosts are clearly smart and knowledgeable about filmmaking, I find the show difficult to listen to from a production standpoint. They are constantly excitedly interrupting one another and talking over one another, and end up basically shouting to be heard. At first I tried rewinding to figure out what each was saying, but it happens so frequently I eventually gave up (on rewinding to catch what was said and, ultimately, on the podcast). There are basic principles of what makes audio-only formats pleasurable to listen to, honed by people working in radio over many decades, that aren't observed on this podcast.
