Purpose by Design with Dr. Karen

Purpose by Design with Dr. Karen

Purpose by Design is so excited to welcome Dr. Karen Hills Pruden: who helps middle-management women level up to senior management. She is also an International Best Selling Author with her book: Undefeated which we will have in the links below. She is CEO of her company: Pruden Global Business Solutions Consulting, LLC.

Dr. Karen talks about her journey as a housewife who did not work at all. Right out of high school she chose to get married and not go to college, then the babies came. Within 5 years, she realized that one of them was not made for marriage. She ended up going back to school and ended up getting her doctorate.

Once our amazing guest got into corporate America, she realized she had something to offer but there were no other women to mentor her. She tried Linked-In and reached out to a Vice President African American woman and after 2 weeks - she responded that she would for $350 an hour. Karen took the step and said she’d do 1 hour each month for 1 year.

Her mentor helped her apply for a senior-management position and she got the job! Karen talks about how not everything should come with an invoice. She has a free community called “Sister Leaders” where women can be there for eachother, talk about things etc.

She has a conference which is FREE at www.sisterleadersconference.com,  it is here to help women gain those competencies that they need to elevate to their next level. There will be an awesome lineup of individuals who are committed to sharing their talent and knowledge. Dr. Karen has online courses as well, and talks about automating your business and delegating and talks about her business model.

Dr. Karen talks about how you can do both: you can have your 9-5 and 5-9! She talks about becoming an author who is now a best-selling author and she talks about what is in her new book, “Undefeated”! She is also an author of several books where she has been the visionary - all of which talk about moving up the corporate ladder for women. She has a common theme throughout all her books rather than helping military women - it’s all about women finding their voice and using it and leveling up. She is all about finding your purpose and taking action.

Lastly, our lovely guest talks about what is your equity? She touches on how important it is to build relationships with the right people, the money will come. This year’s currency is relationships. It’s not what you know, it is who you know. That resonates very much today and is just reconfirmed by our guest. She talks about developing relationships, and it has to go past surface-level. The other side of this is what results do you generate in the marketplace? Your reputation is important. When things happen - you need to be a specialist at something as the specialist is the one who saves the day!

Please share this podcast NOW as it is amazing and reach out to Dr. Karen if this podcast speaks to you today!

Purpose by Design with Celeste Payne

Purpose by Design with Celeste Payne

Purpose by Design is so excited to welcome Celeste Payne: a creativity coach, Empowerment Leader, Best Selling Author, Art GAllery Owner and Art teacher! She is simply a person who has tapped into their creativity, and uses that creativity to help students and other women to see there is more to them and that they are destined for greatness.
Celeste was born to a 19 year-old college student, her first days were in foster care. Her grandmother eventually brought her home at around 9 months as she wanted her mother to stay in college and finish education.

Fast forward to when Celeste was 12 or 13 years old and she was having problems with people in her neighborhood, she moved in with her mom. This was September…that November, her mother passed away in her sleep. This of course left a big void in Celeste’s life, and was traumatizing. Celeste leaned on the arts to get her though, and express herself.

She shares with us how she met with a doctor at her church as her mother passed at 32 years young of an aneurysm, and she was in a very high-stress state. He showed her she will be alright, and she can stop worrying every night if she is going to sleep. He was integral in creating a cross-roads of being a receiver of the gifts where now she can pour all that she has endured and learned into others.

She talks about God’s answer to chaos was to create something. Her vision is to help women create their way out of a situation no matter what it is.

Share this amazing podcast now so others can hear Celeste’s amazing story!

“Let people doubt you, then do it twice, and take pictures” with Lee Mariano

“Let people doubt you, then do it twice, and take pictures” with Lee Mariano

Purpose by Design is so excited to welcome Lee Mariano to the podcast. Today we delve into Lee’s past, present and exciting future. She served as a marine for 8 years after high-school, before climbing the corporate ladder where once she reached the top, she wasn’t fulfilled. She then decided to reinvent herself and started coaching other women in reaching their goals. She is an author, coach, public speaker, and a domestic abuse survivor. She shares her story to help many in the same situation and show them there is a light at the end of the tunnel.

When Lee decided to go into the military, people asked her why she does not do a safer or easier approach like the Air Force. She knew it came from doubt and she likes to tell her clients, “Let people doubt you, then do it twice, and take pictures”. She proved all the naysayers wrong and showed them what she is made of.

She talks about when she was married to her first partner, how she became a domestic abuse survivor during her military time. Her “Aha” moment was when she heard her young son begging his dad to not hurt mommy. That was the catalyst moment for her to make a change. Her commanding officer helped her out of that, and she picked herself up literally off the ground. Lee had to remind herself that she was more than a victim of domestic abuse and no longer felt ashamed. She began to own it as for years she had lost her confidence, self esteem, and was willing to accept what she thought she deserved.

In the corporate world, there was a point where she reached the top and she was an executive. She walked into an office and she was asked, “Are you here to take our lunch order?” She had to prove herself to them, and she ensured she became a presence to be reckoned with.

Lee has written 48 romance novels and talks about what got her into that and she teaches how to remove labels. Lee shares her coaching program, “Step into your Power” - where she teaches women to kick down doors and take names and show up every day as the person they are meant to be.

Please make sure you share this podcast and ensure you are doing everything to get this amazing message out there. What Lee talks about is so powerful and it is surely going to help people.

I Am A Bright Spark in the World with Joanna James

I Am A Bright Spark in the World with Joanna James

Purpose by Design is so excited to welcome  Joanna James, an Australian resident whose future is looking very bright. If you want to understand who she is in the context of her titles: chief ambassador at The Successful Women, business mentor, a professional speaker, and author. She is a generous, kind, intuitive, intelligent and capable soul who loves helping people. She’s trying to teach women to build successful companies by teaching them how to own a business, teach them how to be an entrepreneur and be successful so they can have an impact on this world.

Joanna started her working career as an architect and designer. Her  former husband and she formed a mortgage company where they worked together for 20 years, which turned into a very successful business. It took a very long time to learn that her master skill was handling variety. At the heart of that, she learned that she loves working with people, loves helping create an amazing experience for people and was able to create a retreat center for people to come to - Sting was their first celebrity who stayed there!

In 2016 - her life changed dramatically. She and her husband separated, and everything in her life was completely torn apart: her identity, her career, who she was and what she did etc. It was around that time that she hit rock bottom, and she needed to integrate a mentor, where she gives credit to her mentors and explains why that is important.

Joanna knew her purpose early on, but it took a while to visualize exactly what that looked like. She has faced adversity in life and has had a lot of experiences. She encourages women out there who are at a breaking point and reminds them that they are not experiencing something that they cannot handle. If you are experiencing intense sadness - know there is intense joy around the corner. This experience is going to mold you to be stronger, more resilient and make you wiser.

Lastly, Joanna talks about coming to the States and how it was a good call to action when she joined a call impromptu. She shares about the essence of writing and how it is clarification, as well as speaking.

What do I do now?... with Nicholette Hemingway

What do I do now?... with Nicholette Hemingway

Purpose by Design is so excited to welcome Nicholette Hemingway - a native of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. She is an author, speaker, business owner, wife, mother and grandmother. She does it all!

Her business is called “Nike H Speaks LLC.” - it teaches people to advance in life - her business will help with mock interviews, job-search tools, and will write up resumes for people. It is an amazing tool you can find in the LINKS section.

Nicholette tells us about what led her to where she is now. She explains how money was not always in the household and when she was in college - she was a wife, and a new mom and was juggling a lot in the air.

She had a very determined outlook on life on what she is going to do - so she ended up going to grad school. Once she got her Master’s Degree - she started applying for jobs and they all had a similar message: You need 2-3 years of experience.

This of course was disappointing to Nicholette - but she also had a family who she wanted to provide for and help with the bills. So - she did what many often do - and got a mediocre job that paid the bills. Inside of course - she was not fulfilled. She asked herself, “What do I do now?” She had these degrees - but not putting them to work. Her parents kept telling her how many opportunities there were west in the Phoenix area.

Shortly after she and her family moved to Phoenix - she ended up doing what she swore she wouldn’t do - be a 3rd generation military air force “brat” as she puts it. Her family moved to the Maryland area and did that for around a decade before moving back to South Carolina. A few years later, they were grandparents!

Our amazing guest talks about her fictional (but based on her life) book and how it has helped people out there - as well as what is in the book and why it will help you. It's called “A Little Black Girl on the Beach”.

Nicholette was abused as a child, tried masking it with marijuana and things that masked that life was not going well. She was on her knees in a hotel room, crying out to God asking Jesus for help. It was a total re-emergence with God and who she is now. What the devil wanted to use for harm has been transformed into how God’s glory has shined through in Nicholette’s life.

Confidence Comes When God Speaks To You with Berlinda Love & Latoya Buchanan

Confidence Comes When God Speaks To You with Berlinda Love & Latoya Buchanan

Purpose by Design welcomes: Pastor Berlinda Love and

Latoya D. Buchanan - 2 powerhouses of knowledge.

Latoya is so endearing and inspiring - she is practicing nursing specifically in pediatrics. She moved to Houston, Texas but is originally from North Carolina. She does a lot of education training and teaching and sets priority on working with the families as well as does Missions work. God is her number 1 and she goes to him daily for meditation and centering herself. She believes largely in health which she shares and holistic practices. She talks about the confidence gained when God speaks to us, and her goal is to encourage people all over the world. She is a single mother, who shares a bit about her abusive marriage she overcame. She is writing a chapter in an anthology coming out in the future named ‘UNDEFEATED’ which you should definitely pick up to hear more about her story in detail. It will have multiple stories from different women who have overcome life’s challenges. Latoya shares that though sometimes we can THINK we are walking into a better situation but if it is not something we have prayed about, it may not be something of the Lord. Links are in the description to contact Latoya.

Our second amazing guest is Pastor Berlinda Love - she resides in Valdosta, Georgia where she relocated in 2018 after her parents passed in 2017.

She was born there, so it is like coming home in a way. Though, she was raised and had her career in New Jersey. She is a retired school teacher, and has several nephews and nieces that have her heart and she loves dearly. She talks about how the Lord has orchestrated every single step in her life, and how even from early childhood - people were put in her life to set her up for success. She says that even though life has hardships as it always will - there’s a reason why God allows those things to happen - they shape us, teach us, and mold us for what we are meant to be. Pastor Love thanks the teachers in her life, the adults in her life who encouraged her, and gave her a wonderful foundation. Our amazing guest shares how no student was left behind when she was in school - there was no such thing as not wanting to learn - students studied, and if there was time to play that was a bonus. The teachers cared for them, and wanted them to do well. She talks about what led her to be where she is today and shares some amazing advice on how to handle trials, and gives a cool perspective on how God led to where she has been to where she is.

Do not miss this incredible podcast - Hear what these 2 amazing ladies have to say and this goes without saying but please SHARE this and spread the good word!
