    Jose Mangin

    Jose Mangin

This week is a treat because I’m joined IN PERSON by metal ambassador and Sirius XM personality Jose Mangin! A true tequila connoisseur, Jose brings over just a few fine bottles to sample from his collection of over 150 different tequilas as we sit down and talk all things metal.
Jose opens up about his childhood and pinpoints the exact moment he fell in love with metal music. We get into his first metal concert, and how his love for the genre led him to becoming the voice of Sirius XM’s Liquid Metal and Octane stations.
We get into Jose’s love of Pantera and he shares a great story about his experience at Vinny Paul’s funeral service. Jose reveals his upcoming plans for the now-restored limousine once owned by Vinny and Dimebag, and his vision for the perfect marriage between his daughter and Rob Trujillo's son Tye.

    Mikkey Dee of Motörhead

What happens when two complete hellraisers get together for some cold drinks and good conversation? You get the latest episode of Drinks With Johnny featuring legendary drummer Mikkey Dee of Motörhead, of course.
Mikkey shares some insight behind the band’s collaboration with Hillrock to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Ace of Spades with a limited batch bourbon that would make Lemmy proud. We reflect back on Mikkey’s first time meeting Lemmy, and how he eventually made his way from King Diamond to Dokken before finally landing in Motörhead.
Of course we talk wrestling and what it was like to create some legendary entrance themes for Triple H. Mikkey reveals a few of his childhood heroes behind the kit, and how he’s developed his drum sound over the years. We get into Mikkey’s current gig with Scorpions, and much more as we get into the mind of this true metal legend.

Chris Kael of Five Finger Death Punch

Chris Kael of Five Finger Death Punch

Things get turned inside out this week as we talk bassist to bassist with Chris Kael of Five Finger Death Punch. As Chris prepares to get back on the road with the band, we take a look back at how he broke into the industry and chat about what he’s done in his downtime during the pandemic (hint: he recorded an album, and right now there’s only one way to hear it….)
We sample Chris’ Impale’d Ale & Root Beer’d as he opens up about sobriety and how he uses his beer sales to help those battling addiction. Chris also shares a story about why he almost never made it home from Vinnie Paul’s house one sunny day. We find out how close Chris was to actually giving up on his musical career before joining Death Punch, and why it sometimes pays off big to slide into someone’s DMs.
Chris talks about his experience of hand delivering bass guitars to fans, and why it’s been a longer than expected process. We get introspective & retrospective on our lives, and why it’s important to appreciate the journey over the destination. We give Blabbermouth some good one liners to use as headlines, talk about the newfound synchrony in the 5FDP camp, why Kiss Alive II is so special to Chris, and so much more!

    Heidi Shepherd of Butcher Babies

    Heidi Shepherd of Butcher Babies

We smell a massacre because this week’s guest is none other than Heidi Shepherd of Butcher Babies. As the band prepares for their Butcher Babies Vs. Goliath tour, we discuss the evolution of their musical style since the release of Goliath in 2013. Heidi shares her nerves of finally getting back into the world to tour, and how she’s taking a different approach musically to performing the tracks from their debut album.
Johnny and Heidi get into their love of being a part of the Raider Nation, and predict how this season will go for the team. We take a look at Heidi’s childhood and how it has influenced her life today. Heidi opens up about growing up Mormon, having a huge family with over 100 cousins, and how her parent’s musical & athletic genes were passed down a generation.
We bring it back to music and chat about the possibility of a live Butcher Babies album. We get into music videos and find out why the production process is more of a ‘family affair’ for Heidi and the band. We talk about Heidi’s venture into acting (and find out she was in The Sandlot - THE FREAKING SANDLOT), plus she touches on her ‘beef’ with another female rocker. We talk edibles & highdeas, Butcher Babies wine, get an empowering quote from Nita Strauss, plus so much more!

    Kelly Pavlik

    Kelly Pavlik

It’s time to go toe-to-toe with the former Middleweight Champion of the WORLD, as boxing great Kelly “The Ghost” Pavlik joins the show. Kelly shares his experience meeting Avenged Sevenfold for the first time in his hometown of Youngstown, Ohio and how the band plays a part in his self proclaimed “champ stamp” tattoo on his back.
We talk about Kelly’s introduction to boxing at a young age, and why he doesn’t think it would be a good career choice for his son. Kelly shares his thoughts on celebrity boxing bouts, and why it’s important you should watch them with the mindset that it’s an exhibition matchup. The Ghost also pulls back the curtain behind the boxing industry revealing that some champions don’t get paid as much as guys who can ‘put asses in seats.’
We break down friend-of-the-show Vergil Ortiz’s upcoming fight, and discuss why Kelly thinks Vergil is a man on a mission. Kelly explains the differences between the many governing bodies in boxing, and exposes the fees associated with being a World Champion. We talk Tyson/Holyfield III, Fury/Wilder III, and if there was any weight to the statements that Kelly made on Joe Rogan’s podcast about getting the itch to fight again!

Michelle and Val

I just listened to this episode and it was awesome! The bond you share is incredible. You all were blessed to have Jimmy in your lives and thanks for sharing some stories and history. Cheers

Decent

Decent show, however, Johnny is getting too “woke” for me. I wonder if he regrets getting a “vaccine” yet. Between his believing in the Covid hoax and the bands support of BLM, very disappointing

SOLD

I was on the fence between 4 and 5 stars until the recent Brett Berish episode, when Johnny used the adjective “banana-forward” as a tasting note for rum. I’m sold. 5 stars!
