The first episode of Make It There has arrived! In this episode, I catch up with an old college friend Marissa Avnaim. Marissa is an award-winning journalist who moved to New York in 2021 to work for NBC News. Her career has been packed with incredible highlights such as time working on Late Night with Seth Meyers, The Today Show, Morning Joe and so much more! Marissa and I first met when we worked on our college's newscast together where she was the best reporter and anchor that I had the pleasure of producing. In her last year of college Marissa was the lead writer on a documentary that I created, How Did We Get Here? Nashville Surviving 2020.
In this episode, Marissa and I talk about balancing a demanding career as journalists with the social lives of two girls in their twenties. Although it can be tough to manage sometimes, Marissa does it all with a grace and confidence that inspires me daily.
