E24: Randy Couture: Part 2 of 3 2000 Percent Raise

    • Entrepreneurship

This week John is excited to release Part Two of his three part interview with UFC legend Randy Couture. In Part One Randy talked with John about his early fighting career, his time in the army, and the origins of MMA and The UFC. Randy also reflected on some of his unforgettable fights and broke down the similarities in wrestling and MMA mindsets.
In this installment John kicks off the show with expert gambling advice in homage to Randy’s home town of Las Vegas. Randy reflects on his transition from the UFC to Japan and what that period of his career taught him about both fighting and life. Randy also reminisces on a few of his tough losses and his opinion on the Tito Ortiz and Chuck Liddell rivalry. Randy weighs in on his own rivalry with Liddell and speaks about their history, fighting styles, and approaches. Randy also addresses his thoughts on what constitutes championship adversity and what exactly happened when UFC changed ownership in 2001 and why truly understanding contracts was vital for controlling his career.
For many listeners Randy “The Natural '' Couture needs no introduction. Randy has built his reputation as one of the greatest and most decorated MMA fighters in the world with six separate UFC title reigns, spanning two weight classes and he is also the 4th fighter to be inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame. Couture has his own chain of gyms, Xtreme Couture MMA, and a clothing line, Xtreme Couture Clothing. He also founded and runs the Xtreme Couture GI Foundation, which raises awareness and financially supports wounded veterans. Randy is also an accredited Actor and TV personality starring in numerous films, most notably the hit action film series The Expendables.
