These lectures were recorded from Summer '07 - Summer '09 and are supplementary to the lectures given in our SYGN 101 - Earth and Environmental Systems Sciece course. Though these lectures go into more depth than time allows in our classroom, the classroom lectures have the advantage of staying current as earth science advances.
Lecture 1 - Earth and Environmental Systems Science
Lecture 2 - Atoms to Minerals
Lecture 3 - Igneous Rocks
Lecture 4 - Volcanoes
Lecture 5 - Sedimentary Rocks
Lecture 6 - Weathering and Soil

Having something to peek at while trying to digest all the pro. terms is just neat!
I couldn't imagine how I could have recognized them w/o reading the notes first......
(don't get me wrong! This podcast series is a nice & solid one, but you know what will happen when there's too much vocabulary!!)
Outstanding. Covers info everyone should know.
This lecture series is well thought out and very complete; building from basic geology up through biology, ecology, and anthropology. Dr. Shorey does an excellent job of explaning complex concepts and the conversational tone of the lectures makes them more accessible. This type of course should be part of every higher learning program.
