Fantastic collection of bubblegum bliss

The Professor has one of the best collections of pure bubblegum music and pop culture sound clips around. As a lover and collector of this sweet sticky pop music Echo Valley has turned me on to new forgotten gems and has fired up long dormant caverns of my brain making me say things like “Oh yeah! I forgot all about The Catanooga Cats!” Recommended for bubblegum experts, novices and pop culture fiends alike.

Manna For The Inner Child

Words can’t express how much this podcast means to me - it’s like a time machine for my subconscious, manna from heaven for the inner child. More than once I found myself in tears, when a song came on I haven’t heard since I was toddler age (“Womble Of The Universe”, for example).

Pop songs had a very unique, amiable sound between the years 1967 - 1974, and those years are arguably the greatest in American history. For several reasons. None of which I need mention to those of us born in the mid-to-late 60’s.

There was a feel to the era you either know, because you’ve held onto it, kept it safe inside of you so that you can take it with you after this life has ended - or you don’t. And this guy who created the Echo Valley Podcast lives that feeling, making the Partridge Family song of the same name into a real place, where it’s ALWAYS 1971.

Interwoven between the utopian music, he read a celebrity/news article from the same period (usually from an old Teen Beat-type magazine) and add sound effects to hilariously poke fun at the usual insane naivety that ran rampant during those halcyon days.

In closing, for Gen-X’ers (or those interested in that pop culture timeline), each episode of Echo Valley is a diamond - worthy of being downloaded and saved forever on your device. It was a magical time to be alive, and thanks to Echo Valley I can drop back in any time I get the need.
