195: 5 Ways to Spot Fast Fashion

One of the most common pitfalls when we're working to become more conscious consumers is figuring out if the clothing we're buying is fast fashion. I'm breaking down five tried-and-true guidelines for us as we examine brands and think more deeply about our purchases. We're also walking through examples of greenwashing campaigns (cough cough, H&M Conscious) and discussing the juicy news of Kourtney Kardashian's appointment as Sustainability Ambassador for Boohoo (lol).

193: Does Personal Action Matter? Letting Go of Eco-Guilt

We’re exploring a common sentiment in the sustainability space: eco-guilt, or any feelings of shortfalls around our own environmental action. We’re discussing the causes of these emotions, and how we can rationalize giving ourselves some grace around these self-defined benchmarks of being a “good” environmentalist. We’re also revisiting an excellent example of collective and personal action working together to create change from Tanja Hester of Ep 158.

Book review was confusing

I love the podcast but I found the book review hard to follow. You both started saying how the industry has lost its luster because of a series of truths and bad things. However, later you were flip floppy during the black market section which didn’t make sense at all. You both didn’t follow your own logic. It makes sense that you were confused but it doesn’t translate well in the podcast. If the book didn’t want to persuade the reader one way or mother, then you both should have had a stand.

I like the idea of a book review but this one wasn’t done right.

A guide, a mentor, an inspiration

Hello Laura! (:
I found your podcast about a year ago when my eco conscious lifestyle began and I’ve been binging and listening ever since. I cannot get enough! You have been a guide, a mentor, an inspiration, and a friend through mine and my families journey. I really enjoy your fact based outlook on topics and your drive to continue to be better is admirable. I find the strength to do better for myself, my kids, and the planet through your digestible topics and amazing guests.
Keep up the great work!

Laura makes you feel like you are her friend as you both are on a eco-conscious journey. Thank you for your passion and hard work you put into your content. She’s also somewhat of my inspiration for starting a podcast too. I enjoy each episode she puts out and all the knowledge and smiles behind it.
