Latest research in eating disorders

This podcast has introduced me to a lot of new ideas about the causes and manifestations of eating disorder behavior. My only criticism is that I wish there was more information specific to BED, which is by far the most common eating disorder but I understand that research is not as well developed as that for bulimia and anorexia. I often wish the podcast episodes were longer!

Not Weight-Neutral

I wanted to like this podcast, but have been a bit disappointed. Most of the info is good, but there have been a couple of instances of weight biased statements and/or promoting restriction/weight loss by guests on the podcast, opinions that weren’t called into question at all. I know that there is a disclaimer that the opinions expressed on the show are the opinions of the podcast guests, but still. Running an ED podcast, your first order of business should be not to trigger your listeners.

The interviewer also does not have the best active listening. She’s constantly saying “mm-hmm, mm-hmm, mm-hmm,” which sounds awkward and interrupts the guests. That would be great active listening for a personal phone call, but on a podcast? Just let your interviewee talk.
