    The Fifth Vital Sign

    The Fifth Vital Sign

In this episode I talk to Lisa Hendrickson-Jack of the Fertility Friday Podcast and author of The Fifth Vital Sign. Lisa is an expert fertility awareness educator and in her new book she brilliantly frames the menstrual cycle as the fifth vital sign, an essential marker of our overall health. Understanding the menstrual cycle is more than avoiding/achieving pregnancy (though that is a big part of it), but it is also a lens into the inner workings of our body as a whole. We explore what it was like to write the book and do the immense research that she undertook to create a resource that includes over 1000 citations! Please check out her book--it is such an important addition to the women's health landscape.
