Coming Home To Your Sensual Self With Ev'Yan Whitney

Coming Home To Your Sensual Self With Ev'Yan Whitney

Before we dive in I'm hosting Decolonial Visioning, a half-day workshop to help you intentionally and intuitively plan 2022! It's happening at the top of the year. And all the details are at: www.DecolonialVisioning.com

The topic of sensuality and sexuality is taboo and even more so for Black women and femmes however, reclaiming our sensuality is integral to embodied healing. I invited Sexuality Doula®, Ev'Yan Whitney because I knew they could guide us through the this conversation of coming home to our sensual selves with depth.

I've been following Ev'Yan's work for a hot minute and I really love how they unapologetically center pleasure.

    In this episode, we discuss…
-The role of self-responsibility in pleasure
-The key distinctions between sensuality and sexuality
-Why it's important for Black folks to move beyond our collective pain
-Ev'yan also shares their experience of coming out as both non-binary and on the ACE spectrum

If you want to reclaim your most sensual self then this conversation is well worth the listen.

✨During this episode, I announce the podcast's first giveaway! Listen and find out how to win a copy of Ev'Yan's new book + a ticket my Decolonial Visioning 2022 workshop!✨

Unpacking Unconscious Biases and The Power of Reflective Writing with Leesa Renée Hall

Embodied Solidarity, my 8-week communal exploration for white folks to uproot white supremacy in themselves and their leadership and stand on the side of liberation, justice and equity for all is open for enrollment through this weekend only. In my work with Black women and WOC I hear all the time about the violence that’s perpetuated by white folks in workplaces, public spaces, wellness spaces, schools you name it. My prayer is that this work helps create a safer and liberatory world for us all. Learn more at: www.theresecator.com/solidarity

Today’s conversation with Leesa Renée Hall stands the test of time! Leesa who I’ve been connected to for a number of years now shares her grounded wisdom on unpacking unconscious biases and the power of reflective writing that transformed her life. This episode is about honoring who we are while becoming better ancestors in the process.

Liberation, Decolonization and Lessons I'm Leaning Into

Liberation, Decolonization and Lessons I'm Leaning Into

I'm so excited to share the very first episode of the Embodied Black Girl Podcast with you!

It's been a while coming. We've been experiencing massive amounts of snow over here (and throughout the United States). For us, that means we've been mainly inside except for short periodic outdoor adventures. And six people (kids and grown folk) inside for that long isn't really conducive to recording a podcast. But I was finally able to get enough quiet (praise Spirit for warmer weather) so here we are.

In this first solo episode, I share...

    -A new approach to introductions
-What my work is in devotion to and why
-Why the liberation of Black women is where it's at for all of us
    -The importance of community
-How I'm untethering from what bell hooks calls the white supremacist capitalist patriarchy
-What I'm 100% D-O-N-E with (you probably want to be done with this too)
-Also, don't miss the story on the ways my father affirmed me and how that informs who I am today
-And more lessons I'm leaning into during this new season

Wow!

This episode was so revealing, healing and cathartic, truly a blessings to all who listen. I was in tears, laughing, shouting “preach” and resonating on so many levels. Thank you for sending out this light love and acceptance and acknowledgment of rage and the embodiment of “feeling in order to do the healing”, LOVE that quote btw thank you. Thanks for your work and love through healing in such a brave Goddess way! Many blessings

Decolonizing Therapy

Great Podcast and exactly what I needed to hear. The authenticity and vulnerability was powerful and inspiring. This should be a part of Wellness classes in middle, high schools and higher education institutions everywhere! Middle schools are great places to begin this work. Thank you for the affirmation and becoming a part of my healing process.
