Interesting

Really interesting social and pop cultural analysis. Some of the episodes state the obvious or just re-tell the movie.

Unimpressed

I watched the Star Trek and the Ethics of Space Exploration video. Such a rich topic, I thought! So many great episodes of Trek have dealt with whether or not we have a right to interfere with other societies, or even a right to terraform planets at the expense of undeveloped indigenous life.

But the video is one guy talking about the ethical questions of modern spaceflight, mostly dealing with medical experimentation. The words “Star Trek” are not said. “Science fiction” is mentioned one time. No movies are discussed, and instead we cut back and forth to clips from the trailers of the Abrams trek movies, with a voiceover that has absolutely nothing to do with hollywood or Trek at all.

Maybe the other episodes are good but I’m not inclined to give them a chance.
