Ep. 315 - How to Stop Taking Yourself So Seriously and Start Playing More

What if the most magnetic version of you is the one who stops trying so hard to be perfect? In a world that feels so heavy, maybe the answer is not to become more polished, more filtered, or more put together. Maybe the answer is to become more playful. More real. More free. This week on Empowering Her, I’m sharing what it looks like to stop taking ourselves so seriously and start letting life surprise us again. From awkwardly attempting hip hop choreography in Manhattan to handing out kindness notes with a friend just because it felt fun and human, this episode is a reminder that joy lives in the imperfect moments. Somewhere along the way, so many of us stopped playing. We stopped dancing if we weren’t “good.” We stopped doing quirky things that made us feel alive. We started curating instead of living. But the truth is, nobody is connecting to perfection. People connect to presence. To authenticity. To the woman willing to laugh at herself and take up space anyway. In this episode, I talk about: • Why adults need play just as much as children do • How social media has us taking ourselves way too seriously • The freedom that comes when you stop worrying about doing it “right” • Why imperfection creates deeper connection • Small ways to bring whimsy, joy, and spontaneity back into your everyday life • The powerful shift that happens when you stop caring so much about what other people think If this episode speaks to your heart, share it with someone you love and leave a review for the Empowering Her podcast. Ep. 314 - The Cost of Assuming the Worst + What To Do Instead

Why are we so quick to assume the worst—and then act like it’s truth? There’s a quieter, more powerful option available to you: assume positive intent. Not in the moments that are clearly unacceptable. Not when your boundaries are being crossed. But in the everyday, subtle situations where we turn nothing into something. Someone cuts you off. A comment lands the wrong way. A girl in your workshop says she’s bored. And just like that, a story forms. But what if it wasn’t about you? What if there was something else going on—something neutral, or even understandable? Because here’s the truth: assuming negative intent is exhausting. It’s heavy. It drains you. And assuming positive intent? It frees you. You’re using energy either way. Choose the kind that actually feels good in your body. In this episode:Why we default to negative assumptionsThe difference between protecting yourself and overinterpretingHow this shift transforms your relationships and leadershipA simple reframe that creates more ease, connection, and clarity ✨ Ready to step into leadership and create real impact with girls? Ep. 313 - The Experience That’s Rewiring How I Do Business

What do you do when something you thought would work… doesn’t? Recently, I experienced a moment in my life and business where things didn’t unfold the way I expected. Something I had invested time, energy, and intention into completely missed the mark. And instead of jumping into fix-it mode or forcing the next move, I chose something different. I gave myself space. In this episode, I’m sharing what came through in that space. The clarity that revealed itself when I stopped pushing, stopped trying to control the outcome, and allowed myself to actually sit with what was happening. This conversation is about trusting yourself when things feel uncertain, releasing the pressure to have it all figured out, and allowing a new way forward to emerge. It’s also about something deeper that’s been coming through strongly for me: People are craving real connection. In a world that feels increasingly fast, automated, and surface-level, there is something powerful about slowing down, tuning in, and choosing a more human way of living, working, and relating. If you’ve been feeling off, stuck, or unsure of your next step, this episode will meet you right where you are. In this episode, we explore: What it feels like when things don’t go the way you plannedWhy rushing to fix everything can block clarityThe power of giving yourself space instead of forcing actionTrusting your intuition over outside noiseLetting go of timelines and expectations that don’t feel alignedWhy connection matters now more than everCreating a life and work that actually supports who you areAllowing your next step to reveal itself naturally If something in your life isn’t working right now, it may not be a sign to push harder. It may be an invitation to pause… and listen. Ep. 312 - The Energy Shift That Elevates Every Conversation You Have

What if the way you see people is shaping who they become in your life? I have been spending less time online and more time in what feels real, grounded, and meaningful. And in that space, this idea has been sitting heavy on my heart. We are constantly reflecting something back to the people around us. The question is… what are we choosing to see? In this episode, I am inviting you into a simple shift that has the power to change your relationships, your energy, and the way you move through the world. It starts with you. And then it expands into every conversation, every interaction, every room you walk into. If you have been craving more depth, more intention, and more connection, this is for you. If you feel called to explore this work on a deeper level and are curious about GiRLiFE, I have opened up a few days for real conversations with women in this community. Ep. 311 - How Women Can Break Free from Comparison and Lift Each Other Up

What happens when women stop competing and start championing one another? In this episode, I am talking about something that has been sitting heavy on my heart: the way women are so often subtly and overtly pitted against each other. From media interviews that invite women to tear other women down, to everyday comments that compare one woman to another, this pattern runs deep and it is time we call it out.  I share two personal moments that sparked this conversation for me. One was a powerful story involving Pink and the way she refused to comment on another woman’s appearance in an interview. The other was a recent family interaction that reminded me how easily comparison gets woven into even casual conversation. Both moments brought me back to the same truth: a woman gets to be celebrated fully without another woman being brought into the equation.  This episode is an invitation to lead differently. To speak differently. To model something better for the girls who are watching us. Because when we choose collaboration over comparison and connection over competition, we create a culture where women and girls rise together.  In this episode, I talk about: Why the narrative of women being naturally competitive is harmfulHow comparison gets normalized in everyday conversationsWhat Pink’s response in that interview teaches us about integrity and womanhoodWhy celebrating one woman never needs to come at the expense of anotherHow we can model a new way of being for the next generation of girlsSimple ways to become a true champion for other women  If this episode speaks to you, share it with a woman who embodies this energy or with someone who needs the reminder that we rise stronger together. If you’ve ever considered becoming a girls empowerment coach, be sure to reach out to me so that I can share more about this rewarding opportunity. Melody@getgirlpower.com Let’s Stay Connected!
