Empowering Women in the Self Defense Arena Green Ops Podcast

    • Wilderness

In this episode Luke talks with Kristin Benton about getting the females in your life into firearms training.

Kristin grew up in Northwest Iowa - around a lot of hunters and guns were around but not an active part of everyday life. On her 30th birthday, when she was gifted a handgun and carry permit class, it was the first time she had shot a pistol. She was nervous and excited but most of all, knew she had a lot to learn.
That first time walking into a range with her newly acquired handgun, she recalls, "I was so nervous and I felt stupid. I was surrounded by guys who knew all the things (or so I thought) and being a woman around all these "tactical dudes" made me feel like such an outsider." Thankfully, Kristin stuck in there and immediately fell in love with shooting and has been learning ever since.
When you're excited about something you want to share it and what started as teaching girlfriends how to shoot for fun, has become something more in She Shoots Training!
With 20 years of prior success in training/adult learning, it made perfect sense for Kristin to share her knowledge and experience with the thousands of other women who are just like she was at the beginning of her journey and who want the skills to protect themselves and their families.
She Shoots started as a way to help women navigate a dangerous world and has grown into a mission to educate, equip, and empower women of all ages.
