In today's passage, Paul is in prison, and he is caught up in a legal battle. A lawyer is going to put forward a case against him, Paul is going to respond, and then he's going to sit in a cell for two years.

John was the only gospel writer to include the story of Thomas refusing to believe the resurrection. Not only did he include it, but he has positioned it to function as the CLIMAX of his Gospel. John saw something powerful here. What do we learn from the story of doubting Thomas--

On this Palm Sunday, we are going to read past the familiar story that describes the King's arrival and read onto a less familiar story that describes the King's heart.

In today's passage, the Apostle Paul is standing before the Roman tribune and the Jewish council. Paul starts this hearing by claiming that he is more concerned about how God would judge him than the Jewish council or even the Romans would, and in doing so, he says that his conscience is clean. The question for ourselves is- Are we more concerned with the way we are seen by God or the crowd we find ourselves surrounded by--

To prevent the crowds from murdering the Apostle Paul, the Roman tribute carried him away.-But as they reach the top of the steps, Paul made a strange request. He wanted to speak to the crowd. Even in this broken state, Paul saw an opportunity to share the hope that he had with the very people who are trying to kill him.
