    Someone recently asked me how I recruited the remote developer I am currently working with so I thought I'd reflect on this topic in today's episode.

    Here is an outline of my process:
    1. Figure out what you want. Ask a developer to help you draft your job listing.
    2. Stand out - I created a short video that accompanied my listing.
    3. Perform due diligence
    4. Ask good questions
    5. Don't be afraid to do more than one interview with the same candidate
    6. De-risk as much as possible: Setup a pilot run
    7. Be nice and friendly
    8. Practice

This is very important because you want to gather as much data as possible before you commit lots of resources to building a product. I never want to be in a position where I'm building something that I don't have full conviction in. The beauty of this step is that, if done right, it would remove a lot of ambiguity from the process of building and selling the product.
