EP 042 - Creating An Inclusive Community With Simone Mcnish Multi-Passionate Conversations

    • Personal Journals

This is such a fun episode, today we’re chatting with Simone Mcnish, about so many different topics you’re not going to want to miss this one.

Simone is a Business and Diversity Coach who helps women of color get visible, get paid, and also helps all women build inclusive businesses. She’s talking about how you can really create an inclusive community and safe space within your business and do so much more than just hit your income goals.

In the episode we cover:
How Simone pivoted in her business and all the emotions that came up for her with it.
The gap she saw in the coaching industry and in entrepreneurship with all white summits and how she decided to start a workshop to talk about diversity.
She tells us how she was scared to talk about the topic but was surrounded by a whole new level of support, because she chose to use her voice to say something.
Simone tells us how she created a cornerstone in her business from this experience and how it was both hard and scary while also tripling her income all at the same time.
We talk about what steps you should take to become a great ally and how it all starts with getting to know people that are different from yourself in conversations.
She tells us how by proactively recruiting a diverse pool of candidates when hiring, you can create a more inclusive business.

We talk about the two main problems facing Black women who are trying to get visible on large platforms.

She talks about pricing your services and creating an offer around the market and your skills with confidence. “No one can do business the way you do business, knowing what you can offer is more important than your worth.”

We finish off the episode with a few rapid fire questions:
What is her #1 way to increase her engagement on Instagram? Her answer: Going Live and getting on video
What is her favorite thing to post on Instagram stories? Her answer: Her airfryer and talking about her offers
What is the #1 piece of advice you have for someone struggling in their business? Her answer: Being clear about what you want, not letting outside views of others cloud that clarity.
