Episode 16: Functional foods, metabolic endotoxemia and type 2 diabetes Women's Health Practitioner Podcast

    • Medicine

Type 2 diabetes, obesity and other inflammatory conditions occupy a massive part of the medical systems resources. For a long time there was a belief that if you just changed your diet a bit and exercised then it was reversible, but I see every day that there is much more to it than that. In this episode we talk about how the gut bacteria, in particular metabolic endotoxemia, is involved and what we can go using functional foods to support patients.

Research DiscussedA dietary intervention with functional foods reduces metabolic endotoxaemia and attenuates biochemical abnormalities by modifying faecal microbiota in people with type 2 diabetes
