In this episode of the Eternal Echoes podcast, host Katharine Rose speaks with Malinda Dietrich, a 70-year-old woman of God who has been journeying with the Lord for 46 years. Malinda shares how the Lord took her from a hardened girl who used to tell others that God was just “a crutch” to a woman in love with Jesus.
She recalls the moment the Lord encountered her in her car after a night of partying, His relentless pursuit of her, and the first time she experienced peace after letting Him into her heart.
Malinda also shares how God’s presence sustained her through a series of challenging health circumstances and how she learned to fight with God’s word. She also discusses her struggles with identity, self-hatred, and shyness, and how the Lord has brought healing and restoration to those areas of her life.
Throughout our conversation, Malinda offers words of wisdom on embracing God’s unconditional love, using His word as a weapon, growing in intimacy with the Holy Spirit, hearing God’s voice, stepping out in obedience, and more.
Words worth echoing:
-“I was not looking for Him. He was looking for me. And I love that about Him.”
-“We don’t change ourselves. It’s a supernatural work that He changes us.”
-“This is a God that wants to be with us. He’s not far away.”
-“The Lord has given us tools that we can pick up, but we have to pick them up.”
-“We're just broken people who are doing our best to follow the perfect One.”
-“Sometimes you have to step into what the Lord’s called you to do.”
-“We want to be humble and go low and let Him go high.”
-“Don't model yourself after any man. Follow Him. People will let you down. Follow Jesus.”
