Chris was born to the Hall of Fame NFL defensive end Howie Long. He has two younger brothers, NFL guard Kyle Long and Howie Long Jr, scouting assistant and personnel assistant for the Oakland Raiders.
Long attended St. Anne's-Belfied School in Charlottesville, Virginia. During his senior year, he was given a 4-star ranking for college recruiting from Rivals.com. He played in the 2004 US Army All-American Bowl. Once he graduated, he went on to play at the University of Virginia under head coach Al Croh from 2004-2007. After his time at Virginia, Long was drafted by the St. Louis Rams second overall in the 2008 NFL Draft. On September 14, 2008, Long recorded his first career sack against Eli Manning of the Giants. Long played for the Rams until the New England Patriots picked him up. He won his first Super Bowl title with the Patriots. Then in 2017, Long joined the Philadelphia Eagles and ended up defeating his former team to win his second Super Bowl.
Colin and Chris talked about how it felt being a top NFL draft pick, playing in New England, Philadelphia, his charity called "Waterboys", climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro, and so much more.
