Ep 36: A Holistic Approach to Autism, Allergies, ADHD & Asthma w/ Pediatrician Dr. Joseph Cannizzaro 30 Something with Sonni Abatta

    • Society & Culture

In this episode of 30 Something, Orlando-based pediatrician, Dr. Joseph Cannizzaro, talks about the issues behind his book, "The 4A Epidemic: Healing for Children with Autism, Allergies, ADHD and Asthma."

Dr. Cannizzaro has been in practice for 50 years, and his approach to medicine and treatment is holistic and integrative. A proponent of supplementation and diet changes to help address these issues, and resorting to medicating only when necessary, Dr. Cannizzaro says he has seen success in his patients with this multi-pronged approach.

I know there is a heated and ongoing debate--with regards to children with autism and ADHD in particular--as to whether or not these approaches can help children. I want to make clear that Dr. C is speaking his opinion, from his decades of practice, sharing his opinion, and that each child is unique. Of course the best approach is always to get in touch with your own doctor with your questions.

But I can say that Dr. Cannizzaro is a wealth of information based on his years of practice, and this conversation about the issues in the book, as well as the reason why he wrote it, is so interesting for parents to hear.

A big thank you to everyone who submitted questions through my Instagram for this episode. We get to them as well!
