Ep. 50 - Being Comfortable In The Uncomfortable: Growth Happens In Discomfort The Art of Winning

    • Entrepreneurship

Steven Nisbet is a U.S. Special Warfare Airman (Pararescueman). He spent 15 years performing as a Technician in Combat Rescue, Combat Medicine, Technical Rescue, and Crisis Management. More than 10 years of that time was spent as a Team Leader amongst the top 1% of the Nation’s Military service members. Of that, 6 years were spent as a Technician and Team Leader in the top 1% of the Nation’s Special Operations Forces at the top Tier, working to solve unique problems threatening the United States and its allies.

Towards the end of his career, he experienced the loss of a teammate in training, fear of death in combat, the loss of his job, depression, extreme stress, and physical injuries. Fortunately, he was afforded the opportunity to have access to some of the best Human Performance Coaches, facilities, and Psychological Therapists in the DOD. Without these specialists, he would be in a very different place today and most certainly down a path of destruction.

In this interview, Steven shares his experience of being told to quit during his time in the military and how he has continued to press forward despite the odds. He explains how mental, physical, and spiritual health can all be negatively impacted if they are not addressed properly when transitioning out of the military.
