Dunn Street founder Stephen Donnelly is joined on the line from Sydney by Executive Director of the Chifley Research Centre - Brett Gale. Together they get their policy wonk on.

Brett discusses the challenges of taking big policy ideas into an election campaign, considers the impact of globalisation is having on the make up of the social democratic coalition. They also discuss the policy challenges and direction the progressive left must address in areas of climate change, employment and the economy and population growth and migration. They round off the episode with nothing to do with policy and that's to discuss their mutual love of the Boston Red Sox and their hang over of a season so far.
