EP 70: Using Emotionally Focused Therapy to Repair Social Injuries - Featuring EFT Trainer James Hawkins PhD We Heart Therapy

    • Mental Health

Right now in society, it has never been more important to learn how to have hard conversations that are effective and lead to understanding and healing the pain of social injustices and injuries that have taken place. The good news is, is that Emotionally Focused Therapy offers us a clear roadmap for having such challenging and important conversations. Using the EFT map around healing attachment injuries can help bring people within not just our families and friends, but also within our society into the conversation that can hopefully result in healing, understanding, repairing, and connection. Remember, a person doesn't have to have bad intentions in their heart in order to unknowingly be doing something that is sending a signal of danger or disconnection to another. This is why it has never been more important to learn how to have effective conversations where two seemingly different perspectives can come together not in a spirit of blame and attack but to a place of repair; offering understanding and empathy in a place of pain, creating awareness and change around danger cues, and having important repairative conversations that build connection together.
Join We Heart Therapy host Dr. Belle and ICEEFT Certified EFT Trainer "Doc Hawk", James Hawkins PhD, as they discuss how to use EFT's attachment injury repair model as a map to having challenging conversations and repair social injuries.
