EP 94- She Rules #34: When They Shit On You, Say "Thank You for the Fertilizer‪"‬ She RULES with Jessica Stroud

    • Marketing

The come-up is never easy.
There are people who will use you and shit on you on the way up.
When they shit on you, say "Thank you for the fertilizer."
When this happens, I always think about how I'm going to process this and move forward.
Back when I started driving the insurance agency in a new direction, I started bringing on new relationships.
What happens is, there are people who have gotten me to build their business, make relationships, and when I stopped being useful to them, they would find a way to step over me.
They found a way to hijack the relationships and cut me out.
Usually, this was because of pride, ego, greed, or a combination of all 3.
I believe in karma.
What comes around goes around.
Instead of being outraged, I sit quietly and watch it all unfold.
At some point in the future, I would've moved on and become successful once again doing the same thing for someone else.
They later realize they weren't the magic sauce keeping the relationship together and they'd come back.
Instead of being vindictive, I would just smile.
They tried to get back in my circle or get close to my relationships by apologizing to me, and it was only because they wanted something from me.
If somebody cuts you, beat them by becoming healthy, happy, successful, and prosperous.
Then, you kindly say, "Thanks for the fertilizer."
I'm doing fine without you.
Good luck!
