Born and raised in El Paso, where he and his family broke countless barriers with hard work, sports and their fists when necessary.

23 years of active duty in the United States Army where he rose through the ranks from Private to Lt. Colonel. Including 1 tour in Vietnam where he earned the Bronze Star and 3 Air Medals for valor in combat.

16 years as a college professor in Criminal Justice, served also as department chair. Leadership at New Mexico Military Institute.

Married to his lovely wife Donna for 49 years and raised two children that are now involved in education and leadership themselves.
