Farewell Tours - Am I Missing Something? | Epic Footnote Productions

Farewell Tours - Am I Missing Something? | Epic Footnote Productions

How can a band or artist in good conscience embark on a multi-year “farewell tour” only to reunite shortly after? Is the money they earn from these tours worth the damage they cause to their credibility? And why do fans enable this behavior and pay a hefty price for the chance to say “goodbye” to their favorite artists (only to spend even more on tickets for the eventual reunion tour)?

That’s what Matt and Zach discuss in the latest episode of “Am I Missing Something?,” a podcast where we analyze popular or unpopular bands, albums, songs or music trends in an attempt to figure out what we seem to be “missing.” The goal isn’t to ridicule, but rather to gain a better understanding of what a majority of fans see or don’t see in something that Matt and Zach simply can’t wrap their heads around.

Judas Priest, “Invincible Shield” - 2 Minutes to Review | Epic Footnote Productions

Does Judas Priest live up to their legacy as the iconic metal gods that have been influencing bands and leaving fans in awe for over five decades with album number 19, "Invincible Shield"?

Find out what Matt and Zach think in Epic Footnote Productions’ “2 Minutes to Review,” a podcast that’s part album review and part competition. 2024 Nominees Who Should (And Will) Get Inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame - “If You Have to Pick 3 …” | Epic Footnote Productions

2024 Nominees Who Should (And Will) Get Inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame - “If You Have to Pick 3 …” | Epic Footnote Productions

The time has come to ask: out of all the nominees for the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Class of 2024 (which includes everyone from Mariah Carey, Cher, Mary J. Blidge, and Sinead O’Connor, to Ozzy Osbourne, Oasis, Lenny Kravitz, and Dave Matthews Band), which three deserve to be inducted the most? And which three 2024 nominees are most likely to get inducted into the prestigious Hall of Fame this year?

Both questions are up for debate in this episode of Epic Footnote Productions’ “If You Have to Pick 3 … ,” a podcast where we have to pick our top three choices on any given topic (bands, albums, songs, genres, whatever!). After hosts Matt Gamba and Zach Shaw each share their personal favorites, they then have to come to an agreement on a final top 3.

Best Albums of 2004, “If You Have to Pick 3” | Epic Footnote Productions

The number of landmark albums that came out in 2004 is simply astonishing. But which 3 albums celebrating their 20th anniversary this year (NOT named “American Idiot” by Green Day) would we declare as the best?

Find out our choices in this episode of Epic Footnote Productions’ “If You Have to Pick 3 … ,” a podcast where we have to pick our top three choices on any given music-related topic. After hosts Matt Gamba and Zach Shaw each share their personal favorites, they then have to come to an agreement on a final top 3.

Best Songs by Billy Joel, “If You Have to Pick 3” | Epic Footnote Productions

Billy Joel's vast catalog of hits makes determining which of his songs are his best nearly impossible. But if you HAD to name the Piano Man's three best songs, which would you choose?

Green Day, “Saviors” - 2 Minutes to Review | Epic Footnote Productions

Green Day, “Saviors” - 2 Minutes to Review | Epic Footnote Productions

Green Day releasing a new album in 2024 is gutsy considering they could have costed the year by simply celebrating the 30th anniversary of "Dookie" and 20th anniversary of "American Idiot"... so does their 14th album "Saviors" come even close to replicating the magic captured on those two game changing punk rock records?

Find out what Matt and Zach think in Epic Footnote Productions’ “2 Minutes to Review,” a podcast that’s part album review and part competition. In each episode, both hosts are given two minutes each to review a newly released album or a classic record they’re revisiting. Whoever gives the longest review in under two minutes wins.

BrianColburn ,

If You’re A Music Geek Like I Am...

...then give these guys a listen! The shows are fun, engaging, and as a listener you feel like you’re a part of the conversation, not being lectured too. I personally dig the “2 Minute Review” competition segments, as that offers a refreshing spin on album reviews, and you’re getting two points of view at once! Hope to do a crossover episode with you guys one day!

Oh pokey 1210 ,

Love the debate

I have to say, this is great to hear two different takes on albums (creating the area for debate, ultimately bringing it together into a cohesive list)... Very informative, and I’ve come away learning stuff that I never knew before...keep up the great work.
