Episode 009 | Gandhi Rodriguez | One Of The Greats - A Whiplash Discussion Psychosocial Cinema

    • TV & Film

Welcome to episode 009 of Psychosocial Cinema! For this month’s final episode we are taking a deep dive into the film, WIHPLASH. A core theme that we explore from this movie is the very focused question of: What does it mean to be one of the greats?
No matter your hobby, profession, or the calling you may perceive over life, we all chase after personal greatness...but at what cost? Today we are joined by one of the coolest dudes I know, Gandhi Rodriguez, for a sobering conversation on what our own concepts of “greatness” look like while also navigating this intense theme for the film’s protagonist, Andrew.
This episode was a lot of fun to record, but on the other side of this podcast coin is a rather sobering discussion of mental health and personal failure. As a warning, much like with every episode it would seem, we go into some really heavy stuff on this episode, not only as it pertains to WHIPLASH but also to my life and some issues I was facing in 2019. A lot of things have changed since this episode was recorded, but I will leave that for another episode…...

Without further ado, please enjoy, “One Of The Greats: A Whiplash Discussion”.
