Our first guest on the show is Dave Szlachetka. What began as a part-time coaching gig has turned into a 28 year career at Shady Side Academy. He has served in many roles at the school including Computer Science faculty member throughout his entire time, Department Chair, Dean of Students, Director of Academics, Director of Technology, football coach, girls ice hockey coach, dorm advisor and resident in both the boys and girls dorms.
The enthusiasm that Dave has for teaching and for students is as strong now as ever and this is evident in how he speaks about his life and his work.
