Episode 19 - "Our Declaration of Independence - from Trump," by John P. Flannery

Episode 19 - "Our Declaration of Independence - from Trump," by John P. Flannery

We discuss Trump's war on American values, esp starting his campaign for President with a bang, at Mount Rushmore, declaring his support for Confederate statues, and thus launching a campaign of racism, then we talk about how this Southern strategy was tried in a different time with the same rhetoric by Nixon's men, and whether it will work now, we have some taped clips you may not have heard before, we have an interview with a former congressional liaison for the Labor Department, now in private practice, Bill Buie, III, Esq., explain what he's learned as a black man making his way in a racist society, and finally we have an interview with an environmental expert, Michael Town, because climate change has made possible the pandemic we are now fighting, and we should consider what we must do to counteract its effect.  Host: John P. Episode 18 - Trump Unplugged - and On the Run - by John P. Flannery

Episode 18 - Trump Unplugged - and On the Run - by John P. Flannery

This is a study of how Trump divided the nation in two instances, race, and the virus, and how the people have pushed back and Trump's act is not working as well as it has in the past, putting at risk his re-election, and how this critique compares with the standards invoked by Jefferson and Friends in the Declaration of Independence.  John P. Episode 17 - Trump Does Tulsa and the SDNY - by John P. Flannery

This is a look at where the nation stands in terms of Trump's racism, the protests against police violence, and the continued corruption of the Trump-Barr battery to suppress evidence of this Administration's wrong doing.  We have two prominent voices to discuss these matters and the presentation is divided into a discussion about Tulsa, about the firing of the US Attorney for the SDNY, and a father's day message.  John P. Episode 16 - How to Fix the US Supreme Court - Enlarge it, by John P. Flannery

Episode 16 - How to Fix the US Supreme Court - Enlarge it, by John P. Flannery

When Trump leaves office, we are going to have to restore the Republic and the judicial branch is high on that list requiring reform because of how Trump had little regard for law or the constitution or the Supreme Court, and how his two Supreme Court nominees, far right ideologues, were "handled" by Trump and McConnell in a corrupt manner, so in this podcast we review the players, the nominees, and what is unjust about those confirmed to join the Supreme Court, and how we can remedy this miscarriage of justice, in a manner more efficient, other than impeachment, by legislation enlarging the court by two more justices, from 9 to 11 justices.  John P. Episode 15 - "We Shall Overcome" - by John P. Flannery

Episode 15 - "We Shall Overcome" - by John P. Flannery

This discussion takes us back to the 60s to illuminate what's going on now in America with our recent protests about systemic racism, how we've come together to protest it, how the world has joined our protest, how the police with their misconduct at marches have made the argument that they are violent and racist, how republicans have lied in the past, and how Trump now lies but is worse because he lies to reform our republican form of government and remake our government into his form of fascism.  John P. Episode 14 - The Violence of Racism - and our response -by John P. Flannery

Episode 14 - The Violence of Racism - and our response -by John P. Flannery

There has been a national eruption after a police officer killed a black man, suffocated him, something like Eric Garner, 5 years ago, and this episode sets out to review the charging documents released by the Minneapolis authorities, what's missing, what we might know if we had the information, the misconduct of Trump contributing to this crisis, the demonstrations in the street protesting, how other leaders have actually been effective in such circumstances in the past, what to make of the violence in the streets in response to the lawlessness blacks have suffered, not to mention the poverty and indignities, and what our response should be to solve this horrendous American tragedy, something like the findings from the Kerner Commission in the '60s  John P Flannery, jonflan@aol.com, @jonflan

Straight from the Hip

I first heard Mr F on MSNBC with Ari Melber. I thought who’s this new talking head, wearing a Bow tie, looking, just slightly, disheveled. He gradually grew on me. I loved the way he wouldn’t hold back on his criticism. My kind of man. His podcast is just an extension, but more in depth analysis and further facts to back up his case. I’ve learned more about his passion and belief that the USA can get past the aberration in the White House. God, I hope you’re right.
Keep up the good work.

Flannery is a National Treasure

Flannery man has a bold aesthetic that, mixed with his aggressive criticism of the Trump administration come across as another as run of the mill talking head outrage that resonates with all of us rational, rightly outraged Americans.

Beyond brief isolated cable news features on The Beat with Ari Melber, when I was able to judge several of his featured segments as a bigger body of work, it becomes clear that he is not your typical outraged cable news talking head. He has remained a consistently brutal critic of the Trump administration, and backed his criticism up with substantive, concise analysis and explicit actions that he believes Trump’s adversaries in government should take. He is unmatched in his ability to communicate in a distinctly accessible way, and provides practical, unique and nuanced analysis. His ability to go beyond the typical criticism is what sets him apart. His mastery of law and government makes his prescriptions to combat the Trump administration’s lawlessness consistently so much more insightful than typical panelist talking points around given subjects and provides consistently transcends the insufficient parity of cable news analysis. His prescriptions for actionable responses almost always bring me new insight because of the depth of his knowledge, his shrewd ability to apply that knowledge and his unique skill as a communicator.

The podcast is just more of that depth, and has only served to solidify my appreciation for Flannery and make it that much clearer that he is a unique asset to this moment, deserving of a much more prominent role in the political and legal discourse amongst Trump’s opposition. I think his outspoken approach is the reason he doesn’t get that exposure, but I think he’s also uniquely qualified to transcend that perception if given the opportunity/arena to do so. I was very pleased to learn that he is a current litigant against the administration and DOJ under Bill Barr. Thank you for your service John!
