Sebastian Siegel: How Does Fear Push Us Forward | Sebastian Siegel, actor, film maker and author Dream Again with Crina Okumus

    • Mental Health

I am honored to have Sebastian Siegel my first ever guest on my podcast interview series.

British-American filmmaker and author Sebastian Siegel has produced, written, and directed the upcoming feature film Grace and Grit, adapted from Ken Wilber’s globally popular book. He has produced, written, and directed a series of acclaimed trailers, a short film, and two documentaries. Sebastian has worked on-screen in supporting roles on Hawaii Five-0, Quantico, Lost,  The Haves and Have Nots, The Family That Preys, Mothers & Daughters, and The Finder. Sebastian authored the book, The Consciousness Revolution (in German, English in 2021) and is currently in prep and development on several IP for feature film and series. Sebastian is largely influenced by Ken Wilber, Alan Watts, Ramana Maharshi, and as a filmmaker by Stanley Kubrick and Terrence Malick.

"Like The Tree of Life or The Fountain, Grace and Grit is a movie that takes you on a spiritual journey into the depths of love, and then beyond. Sebastian Siegel is a dexterous and original director, his movie is transcendent storytelling at its best.” ~ Alex Grey, Founder of CoSM

Given Sebastian’s career as an actor as well as his extensive meditative practice, we largely discussed the question of how to manage our emotions in good or bad situations. Here are some of the other topics we discussed:

- How to know the right path to take in life and how to get there
- The difference between joy and happiness
- Sebastian’s upcoming movie Grace & Grit, which will premiere at the end of 2020
- Transcendental meditation and the teachers who guided Sebastian through the ups and downs of the meditative process
- Sebastian’s future projects

Sebastian is simply a kind, empathetic, and overall impressive personality with striking depth and breadth of knowledge. I thank him for his time and kindness!

I hope you enjoy the interview and don’t forget to stick around for the next one!

Please like and subscribe as well!

With love and positive wishes,
Crina.
