Episode 1- What's the Conflict‪?‬ Conflicted

    • Entrepreneurship

So, what is the conflict of a Christian Entrepreneur? What’s the big deal? Why is there an issue? That’s what we’re going to be talking about in today’s episode.

I am a Christian entrepreneur and this is a podcast made for Christian entrepreneurs.
By Christian I mean those who believe in and follow Jesus and His Gospel). Those who have fully entrusted their lives to Him and know they’re saved by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone.
By Entrepreneurs I’m talking about those who have started, or are starting a business. They’re working for themselves, they don’t have a typical 9-5 job… this could definitely apply to executives and CEO’s even if you’re not the owner or founder…
As an entrepreneur and a leader (someone leading a team of people), I consume A LOT of content about running a business, leadership, success, marketing, branding, personal growth and development… you name it. I’ve been helped tremendously by so many of the influencers I follow, the authors I’ve read, and the mentors I’ve had.
Undoubtedly I would not be where I am in business today without this help.
There’s a parable of turtle on a fencepost - if you ever see one, you know it didn’t get there on its own. I very much see myself as the turtle on a fencepost. I attribute whatever success I’ve had to the things I’ve learned throughout my process of growing as a business owner.
However, as a devoted Christian, I also consume A LOT of content about Jesus. I read the Bible regularly, I read books on theology, apologetics, and spiritual formation. God has opened up a lot of doors for me to minister to people, preach the Gospel, teach the Bible, and serve my church. This, too, has been the byproduct of God putting the right influences in my life and directing me to resources that have helped me grow spiritually.
What I’ve noticed, though, is that there’s often a disconnect between the content I read about what makes a successful entrepreneur, and what Christ calls me to in living a life of sacrifice in service to Him and to others.
