Joshua Wiley is an army officer, educator, engineer, and outdoors enthusiast. Having attended the U.S. Military Academy at West Point from 2006-2010 as a cadet who was first nominated by Barack Obama, he has since leveraged time in company command, on deployments/rotations to Afghanistan, Romania, and South Korea, and in learning and research at Stanford to hone practical applications of leadership and scholarship to return to West Point. There, he is educating and inspiring the current generation of cadets as an instructor in Environmental Science and Engineering.
Joshua has a passion for teaching and for environmental stewardship and relishes bringing to life issues of food and water scarcity, climate change, and water treatment technologies in vibrant classroom discussions. He is also part of the coaching team for the National Championship-winning Marathon and Orienteering Teams at West Point. As 2020 changed the way many of us meet, collaborate, and learn, Joshua has applied all of his experiences from Harvard CORe to running a dozen marathons and ultramarathons to design remote learning debates and train teams in a socially distant but socially engaged manner.
